Job Title: Open Rank, Clinical Faculty Appointment (CFA)
The Department of Endocrine Neoplasia and Hormonal Disorders at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center seeks a talented clinician to join the faculty as an expert consultant in diabetes mellitus and general endocrine disorders in a cancer population, particularly in the inpatient setting.
The department's clinical practice includes an increasing emphasis on patients with type I diabetes, immunotherapy-induced diabetes and steroid-exacerbated hyperglycemia, and experience with a broad range of diabetes technologies is preferred. Other areas of clinical focus could include immunotherapy-induced endocrinopathies and metabolic bone disease. One option would be for the position to evolve as an endocrine hospitalist, devoted to working with our inpatient teams that include advanced practice providers, educators, and occasional trainees. The position is primarily clinical, but opportunities for clinical research and quality improvement initiatives are also expected.
The successful candidate will join a department that currently includes 21 adult and pediatric endocrinologists, and 4 laboratory research faculty members. The department provides a broad array of primary oncologic care for patients with endocrine neoplasia as well as endocrine consultative services to the larger cancer patient population of the institution.
EDUCATION
Required: Doctoral degree (M.D.) from an accredited school. Candidate must also be certified, or eligible to be certified, in Endocrinology.
Preferred: Experience beyond Endocrinology fellowship preferred
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION
Required: Texas State Medical License
