Overview
We are looking for a Vice President – Specialist Sales, Transfer Solutions, to drive product commercialization and go-to-market execution for Mastercard's Transfer Solutions (Cross Border Services and Mastercard Send) across the Greater China division. Mastercard Transfer Solutions is a key component in establishing Mastercard as a global player in Real time Payments and facilitate secure delivery of funds between senders and receivers, typically in near real time. Businesses, merchants, governments, financial institutions, digital players & fintechs can send money to consumers and small businesses, domestically and cross border with this service. Our Transfer solutions leverage a combination of Mastercard's card and account-based technologies to enable multiple user flows including person-to-person, business to business, disbursements, remittances and merchant payments.
The individual will contribute to product commercialization and work hand in hand with the regional, global and market teams to scale our Transfer Solutions capabilities.
Role
The role will be focused on leading the successful roll-out of Transfer solutions business (Cross Border Services and Mastercard Send) within Greater China division, to include:
• Lead the strategy, go-to-market plan development & business development for Mastercard Transfer Solutions
• Lead the Transfer Solutions business development team across Greater China division
• Develop country wise commercialization strategy including market sizing and deep analysis of use cases to identify pain points and opportunity size
• Stitch together a Product suite that can solve key pain points of customer segments (banks, NBFIs and merchants) in their money movement flows in collaboration with regional and global teams
• Achieve aggressive revenue growth for Mastercard Transfer Solutions services
• Prospect and contract banks and NBFIs through coordination with product development, internal support teams such as customer delivery, operations and technology, legal, finance and market/geography teams
• Industry partnerships and other strategic alliances in support of the strategy
• Play a key role to facilitate financial modeling / business case development for new business opportunities: execute commercial deals from initial engagements, client negotiations, contract agreement process to implementation
• Account level P&L ownership, including pricing, yield-optimization, corridor optimization & best practices deployment
• Articulate ideal end state, the areas that require product development and the long-term revenue potential
• Monitor and report competition, market evolution and trends, analyze findings from ongoing and previous research efforts and recommend actions.
• Position Mastercard as the industry leader in this space and drive thought leadership with external and internal stakeholders
• Protect Mastercard's brand and reputation with a solid understanding of the risk and compliance environment in the cross border money movement industry
• Drive a holistic Commercial and New Payments Flows narrative and solution by working closely with other functional stakeholders
All About You
• This position requires a highly collaborative individual who will need to manage relationships across multiple functional areas, regional executives and leadership as well as key customers and strategic partners across AP.
• 15+ year working experience with in-depth knowledge and experience in cross border flows
• Strong people management skills to drive the Greater China business development team, with a track record in building efficient multi-national sales team, achieving business development targets and building strong customer relationships
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to influence and build credibility; team oriented, collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible
• Strong executive presence to lead C-suite conversations
• Cross-functional team leadership experience managing multiple, complex projects concurrently and delivering timely results under tight timelines
• Excellent problem-solving skills with demonstrated track record in introducing new/emerging products and services
• Prior experience in sales and product commercialization
• Ability to lead the team to drive effective business outcomes in an ambiguous and fast paced evolving external environment
• Experience executing and managing business development strategies in complex environments
• Excellent problem-solving skills with demonstrated track record in introducing new/emerging products and services
• Strategy and product management experience prefered
• Transaction banking mandatory
• Top tier MBA preferred but not mandatory
