Title and Summary

Vice President, Data Strategy and Monetization Lead, LAC Overview
The Business and Market Insights (B&MI) team is seeking a Vice President, Data Strategy and Monetization. This role is accountable for strategically expanding the quantity and enhancing the quality of data assets available for development and deployment of data-driven analytical solutions for all our customer segments and partners in Latin America. This role will partner closely with our Chief Data Office at global level and with Product Management, Franchise, Market Development, Data Privacy, Regulatory and Legal teams across the region.

Role
In this leadership position, you will:

Work with cross-functional partners and executives to localize global Data Strategy and Monetization goals.

Identify proprietary and consented data elements across data sources (e.g., transactional, open banking, device) with the greatest monetization potential linked to priority jobs to be done (e.g., open new accounts, manage credit risk) of customers and partners.

Own and periodically report progress against the business case for expanding the quantity and enhancing the quality of data assets available for development and deployment of data-driven analytical solutions for all our customer segments and partners.

Engage and influence Country Managers, Market Development, and Franchise teams across the region to ensure complete and timely execution of proprietary data quality remediation plans developed in partnership with the global Chief Data Office.

Lead ongoing transactional data quality assessments for key markets in the region in partnership with the global Chief Data Office.

Own regional data commercial partnerships and data quality and sourcing priorities. Collaborate across internal and external stakeholders to steadily expand and enhance data assets available for analytical solutions development and commercialization.

Assess the effectiveness of data transformation protocols (e.g., merchant aggregation) for the region and collaborate across Chief Data Office and Operations & Technology teams to implement adjustments and increase value delivered to our customers.

Support creation of analytical solutions, leveraging Mastercard's global databases, assets, and software platforms. Collaborate with Regulatory, Data Privacy and Protection teams across the region to ensure adherence to applicable regulations.

Drive institutionalized knowledge using consistent documentation (e.g., support documents) across all processes to support knowledge management and ensure consistency and repeatability across projects.

Ensure data strategy best practices and foster a data-driven culture throughout the organization.

Participate in discussions with executive-level stakeholders, serving as the Subject Matter Expert (SME).

All About You
The ideal candidate should:

Business acumen and the ability to apply data science capabilities to solve practical business problems.

Extensive (+10 years) experience in application of advanced analytics or data science for financial services or payments industry in Latin America. Experience in integrating data science applications into software products will be highly valued.

A master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Machine Learning, Mathematics, or similar will be highly valued.

Can communicate with executives, peers, and staff with impact, eloquence, and authenticity

Demonstrate our Mastercard Way behaviors, necessary to be effective in cross-functional teams

Fluency in English is required, fluency in Spanish and Portuguese will be highly valued.
