We are looking for an experienced Technical Product Owner to join our team and help us build towards the future. Our Technical Product Owners (TPOs) bring the voice of the customer to Engineering, working closely with technical teams to maximize the delivery of value across the portfolio within our scrum execution model. In this role, you provide business context to scrum teams and ensure the focus is on delivering value in accordance with strategic priorities.
You get to dive as deep as you want into the tech stack, the integration patterns, the organizational capabilities, and the company-wide assets that can be leveraged to provide technical solutions to customer problems. You will partner with SessionM clients and client representatives, including, product managers, delivery, support and sales team members, to contribute to the strategies, roadmap planning, design choices, and backlog creation necessary to deliver high-profile new features and capabilities and high-value product increments.
You may drive the value creation of a feature through the full stack or may drive an initiative which spans multiple teams and integrations.
All About You
Demonstrated ability to operate with independence and autonomy
Experience defining and building cloud-native software products as a platform at scale with a deep understanding of those platforms' capabilities and underlying technologies
Both solution and technology-oriented: understands solution needs and ensures team works to create increments that deliver value
Demonstrated experience breaking down problems, organizing work, planning sprints, and operating in agile delivery models (Scrum, Kanban, etc.)
Enjoys diving deep to understand the needs of all stakeholders, converting those needs into an effective backlog, and making trade offs so that the squads are focused on delivering the best possible value aligned with our strategic goals
Proven track record of data-driven decision-making and applying continuous improvement methodologies across teams
Can debate with credibility the engineering delivery strategy with business teams, architects, engineers, and designers
Can communicate to executives, peers, and staff with impact, eloquence, respect, and authenticity
Demonstrated experience building relationships, partnering with and influencing dependent teams while commanding the respect of the individuals you work with across the organization
Comfortable giving and receiving critical feedback with a focus on collective improvement
What you'll be doing
Proactively work with teams to plan, execute, and deliver value-based increments from inception to completion related to a known product or platform domain, technology, or initiative
Work as an embedded member of 2-3 scrum teams and have the technical credibility to drive constructive discussions and decisions on priority, interdependencies, and related processes
Collaborate with Engineering Managers on resources, scope, prioritization, processes, deliverables if needed
Responsible for team backlog - managing, grooming, and prioritizing with the team; drive sprint goals and lead certain scrum events.
Determine the sequencing of work so engineering execution can be optimized for value delivery
Support self-organizing scrum teams
