Title and Summary

Systems Platform Engineer II Overview

Data and Services is a key differentiator for Mastercard, providing the cutting-edge services that help our customers grow. Focused on thinking big and scaling fast around the globe, this agile team is responsible for end-to-end solutions for a diverse global customer base. Centered on data-driven technologies and innovation, these services include payments-focused consulting, loyalty and marketing programs, business Test & Learn experimentation, and data-driven information and risk management services.

The Distributed Platforms team supports this mission and is responsible for the deployment, configuration, maintenance, backup and support of multiple on-premise and cloud hosted data centers. In this role, you will help lead key business projects, adapting and architecting our infrastructure to support on-premise deployments of our product. Role

Installing, administering, and monitoring physical and virtual infrastructure in both local and remote geographies
Automating commonly performed tasks, using scripting and query languages such as Bash, Powershell and SQL
Work with internal engineering and client services teams to provision, provide access, and troubleshoot various testing and production resources
Supporting virtualization platforms such as VMWare
Documenting commonly encountered issues and creating documentation on newly implemented systems on various Atlassian products
Participate in on call rotations, responding to afterhours incidents in a timely manner

About You

Strong desire to automate common tasks
Ability to design solutions to complex problems independently and in a team setting
Strong experience with OS-level system administration (either Microsoft Windows Server or Linux)
Familiarity with monitoring technologies such as Splunk, Azure Log Analytics or PRTG
Ability to juggle competing tasks and prioritize
Proven ability to communicate with team members effectively
Strong analytical, and problem-solving skills
Understanding of working in an agile team environment

Desired Skills & Experience
Knowledge of managing scalable and high-performance software applications and systems

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role.
