Are you looking for your first role after graduating university in the leading faster payments company in the industry.

Role

To gain understanding and familiarity of Software Development & Testing, assisting developers and supporting analysts and testers in the implementation of new features and changes

All about you

To assist in the development, test, configuration and support of the FPS application suite
To gain understanding of established development methodologies and standards including the VocaLink SDLC.
To understand and comply with development and support practices and procedures.
To assist in gathering and translating requirements into technical specifications; establishing and defining details and requirements of applications, components and enhancements.
To work with a mentor to provide technical direction and support to the business.
To work closely with Senior Developers and Support Analysts to gain experience of software best practices.
To assist in programming applications using Java and SQL to support projects and problem and incident resolution.
To support the team by participating in the exploration of new ideas, concepts and process improvements.
To effectively communicate problems, queries and delays to managers and senior staff.
To develop own technical skills and knowledge through on the job training.

Essential

High level understanding of Computer Science
Use of basic SQL in relational databases
Basic experience of scripting languages
Basic experience of Unix command line functions
Be prepared to travel to all Vocalink sites for training purposes

Desirable

Experience within a testing environment
Experience of a range of IT areas
Experience within the financial services marketplace

Skill

Excellent organisational and personal skills to work with a variety of people
Ability to work as a team member and independently with minimal supervision
Good written and verbal communication skills, in order to interact with other team members effectively
Time management skills
