The Fraud and Security Products program consists of globally scalable products focused on bettering the safety and intelligence of the Mastercard authorization network. To fully integrate security and intelligence into the transaction process, the team works to develop merchant and consumer services, improve transaction validation services, and integrate security services with digital payments products.
Roles
• Ensures Code Design and its Quality for Enterprise Application
• Designs highly complex applications, interfaces and integration with a modest number of systems
• Responsible for performance engineering of the enterprise software architecture, and providing functional guidance, advice, and/or training to other application developers
• Responsible for Modest advanced code development, code review and day-to-day support duties
• Researching and evaluating tools to support domain-specific needs
• Develop technical work products and own solution design.
• Technically lead project through all stages of the project life cycle, including requirements understanding & analysis, estimation, design, development and acceptance testing
• Chart out development strategy / approach with correct gating criteria (Definition of done) for moving code from one environment to next, until production.
• Review production monitoring tool and practices to ensure issues are addressed proactively.
• Setup and keep enhancing coding guidelines/practices. Ensure its adherence through regular reviews with team.
• Technically coach team members to ensure optimal quality, performance and security parameters.
• Assist with production support issues by acting as a subject matter expert in resolving incidents and problem tickets.
All About You:
7+ years of hands-on experience in backend development:
Java
Spring Framework
Oracle/PostgreSQL
Event Driven development
Cloud-native application design and deployment
Apply advanced design patterns and API standards, adoption, and commercialization.
Write performant code and debug/troubleshoot complex issues across multi-tiered software architectures.
Analyze, design, and implement scalable data retention architectures.
Lead planning, prioritizing, and scoping of features, backlog, technical debt, and enhancements:
Make tradeoffs by collaborating with team, business, and management stakeholders.
Coordinate with product owners to drive acceptance and signoffs.
Understand, report, and optimize delivery metrics (e.g., velocity, throughput, lead time, defect leakage, burndown).
Good oral and written communication skills:
Explain concepts accurately across technical and business domains.
Communicate ideas to enhance understanding, collaboration, and engagement.
Communicate effectively across seniority levels, roles, and geographies.
Architect test plans with comprehensive coverage:
Cover business use cases and edge conditions.
Employ various types of tests: unit, regression, performance, and integration.
Highly effective at debugging complex issues and discovering root causes across multiple services and product modules.
Mentor junior engineers and interns:
Teach technical and domain knowledge, and best practices.
Encourage others to take on additional opportunities and challenges.
Manage builds and artifact delivery/release using standard tools:
Automate software upgrades, patches, and releases via CI/CD pipelines.
Familiarity with application/system metrics collection, observability, and monitoring.

Support team members across roles and geographies.
