Mastercard's Test & Learn team is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to contribute to the data management aspects of client engagements, delivering Test & Learn and other innovative solutions within the Services group. In this role, you will lead and participate in data management aspects of client engagements, develop robust data pipelines, implement scalable data solutions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Additionally, you will help foster a high-performance, collaborative workplace culture. This hybrid position is based in San Francsico, CA, requiring three days per week onsite.

The Test & Learn team within Mastercard's Services organization aims to build industry-leading business experimentation software that brings sophisticated analytic techniques to business users around the world. We are rapidly expanding our product offerings and innovating on how we deliver Test & Learn solutions to our clients.
Engineers work in small, flexible teams. Every team member contributes to designing, building, and testing features. There are no rigid organizational structures, and each team uses processes that work best for team members and projects.

Role

• Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of large-scale enterprise ETL processes for global data platforms.
• Develop scalable, efficient code to process and ensure timely, accessible, and high-quality data.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers and Analysts to deliver accurate, impactful data solutions across diverse industries and clients.
• Build strong, supportive relationships with clients and team members, contributing to both local and global initiatives.
• Follow industry best practices for version control, code reviews, and data validation to ensure inclusive and high-quality data processes.
• Optimize data processing with SQL and other database technologies to efficiently manage large datasets.
• Mentor and empower team members, overseeing their development and ensuring adherence to internal policies and external regulations.

All About You

• Strong experience in Data Engineering or a similar role, with a solid understanding of data engineering concepts and methodologies.
• Expertise in writing, optimizing, and analyzing SQL queries for efficient data retrieval and manipulation.
• Proficient in Relational Databases (RDBMS), with hands-on experience in Microsoft SQL Server and related technologies.
• Skilled in designing, implementing, and maintaining ETL frameworks and data pipelines to support scalable data solutions.
• Ability to balance multiple projects, prioritize effectively, and adapt to changing demands in dynamic environments.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences, both technical and non-technical.

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role.
