Senior Data Architect Overview

The Global Business Solutions Center (GBSC), Strategy, Enablement, and Transformation (SET) team is built upon strong contributors with leadership abilities, consulting mindsets, and strong project management skills. The group acts as an internal consultant supporting the Shared Services Organization, which today supports four primary verticals: Finance, People & Capability, Sales & Marketing, and Legal, Franchise & Integrity.

We're seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Data Architect to join our team. As a Senior Data Architect, you will be responsible for shaping the future of our data ecosystem by building data assets to enable insights and establishing best practices and data standards. We are looking for a hands-on individual with the ability to design and build end-to-end data solutions blending technical depth with strategic thinking. This is a role for builders and collaborators—engineers who love blank slates, freedom to innovate, and helping teammates succeed.

Job Description Role

Responsibilities and tasks for the Senior Data Architect:
• Design and maintain enterprise‑level data architectures, including data models, pipelines, and storage solutions.
• Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models that support business needs.
• Establish data standards, naming conventions, and governance frameworks.
• Mentor and guide data engineers, sharing knowledge, reviewing code, and fostering a culture of curiosity, growth, and continuous improvement.
• Oversee the design and development of ETL/ELT processes and real‑time data integration patterns.
• Champion best practices in data governance and engineering, including testing, version control, lineage, documentation, and performance tuning.
• Translate business stakeholders' requirements into scalable data solutions.
• Drive collaboration across teams, working closely with product managers, data scientists, and other engineers to deliver high-impact solutions
• Advocate for best practices in data architecture, engineering, and lifecycle management.
• Continuously learn and apply new technologies, frameworks, and tools to improve team productivity and platform reliability

All About You

• Bachelor's degree in information systems, Data Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics or Statistics, or a related technical field.
• Prior experience in Analytics or BI roles analyzing large sets of data and communicating key results to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Proven experience as a Data Architect, Senior Data Engineer, or similar role.
• Strong expertise in data modeling, database design, and distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms (Azure Synapse, AWS Redshift, Big Query, Snowflake).
• Advanced knowledge of R, Python, SQL, Tableau, MS Fabric, and Power BI.
• Deep understanding of ETL/ELT patterns, data warehousing, and streaming technologies.
• Familiarity with data governance, security, and compliance frameworks.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to perform in a team.
