Title and Summary

Senior Analyst, Settlements Investigation - Mexico City Overview:
The Treasury Center of Excellence was established in 2021 as an operational Hub focusing on the support of the following business lines within Mastercard: Settlement Services, Customer Risk Management, and Corporate Treasury.

To strengthen our Payments Assurance Team, we are looking for new Team Member who will support our daily tasks. The Senior Analyst will be responsible for monitoring incoming and outgoing payments and FX trades in real time to ensure proper maintaining of Mastercard settlement obligations to our acquirers.
Since the liquidity management is a crucial piece of what you will be doing on daily basis you will also proactively work hand in hand with many Treasury Operation Teams as well as Settlement Collection, Accounting, Billing and Risk Teams ensuring timely and accurate processing of cash transactions, as well as the accurate recording and reconciliation of transactions in financial systems.
We are not a direct customer facing team; however, we support MasterCard Account Management Teams to ensure Mastercard customer's settlement needs are properly and timely met.
Finally, we are looking for person who is motivated with strong client focus and can-do attitude. Critical thinker who naturally sees opportunities to develop and optimize processes by finding ways to simplify, standardize and automate them. Successful candidate enjoys analyzing data as well as trends for purposes of cash liquidity, financial and operational risk elimination, and opportunities.
Your Role

• Monitor real time payments in order to meet our MasterCard settlement obligations.
• Manage liquidity needs in multiple international currency accounts and collection of member payables
• Liaise with internal stakeholders to provide viable solutions to customer's payment issues
• Monthly Settlement Assessments Billing Maintenance
• Utilize banking tools, reports, and financial systems to investigate cash discrepancies.
• Manage and resolving situations within established guidelines like escalations or more complex investigations.
• Facilitate effective and prompt communication with internal departments and external clients if needed.
• Interact with Settlement Accounting regarding payment applications by running deep investigation to collect information and fail resolution.
• Contribute to problem solving and process improvement sessions.
• Improve cash collections and minimizing credit risk by raising gaps in working methods, participating, coordinating and leading and project and initiatives;
• Identify trends and patterns in receivables accounts as well as understanding of customer needs and behaviors;
All about you:
Education & Technical experience
• Bachelor's in finance or similar field or equivalent work experience required
• Extra Development completed courses or Certificates are a plus.
• Strong technical skills and experience with Microsoft Office suite required.
• Experience in Microsoft Access, Alteryx, Excel Macros, Power BI and Automate are a plus.

Experience
• Previous experience in Treasury and/or Card Payment industry is an asset.
• Firm testable understanding of global payment network SWIFT, SEPA and others
• Demonstrated attitude for performing operational activities and customer service responsibilities under time pressure with a high degree of accuracy and strong attention to details;
• Strong analytical thinking, problem solving and investigative skills with proven ability to recommend ways to enhance operational efficiencies and analytical work; skills (gather and analyze information, curiosity etc)
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact and collaborate effectively with team members, peers, senior management as well as external and internal partners;
• Previous experience with projects is an asset.
• Excellent command of spoken and written English
