Overview

This position will be within the Mastercard Transaction Services Finance Team. The role is required to oversee some key finance operational aspects of the group and support in new design projects to improve the overall efficiency within accounting systems and money transfer product platforms. The role is based in Manila, Philippines reporting directly to the MTS Manager for Settlement Operations.

Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Support and participate in new design project which spans across a multifunctional team to enhance systems and streamline accounting processes related to the money transfer product platforms
• Enhancement of accounts receivable processes through automation project
• Management of funds allocation from bank accounts to customer accounts in the AR module
• Involvement in any ad hoc projects within the team to ensure continuous improvement in process and controls
• Evaluates financial and/or operational metrics and performances, summarizes findings and makes preliminary recommendations to leadership
• Serves as a point of escalation for compliance and service level issues
• Implements initiatives to improve day-to-day operations, including ORM, IT, business processes and system applications

All About You

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field. CPA license is a plus, but not required.
• Working knowledge of GAAP with legal entity and treasury accounting experience preferred.
• Proficiency with accounting and finance systems/software applications e.g. Excel and Oracle.
• Strong knowledge of Internal Control concepts.
• Driven by a continual process improvement agenda, demonstrated through challenging and improving processes.
• Detailed orientated with strong analytical and financial skills supported by excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience operating in a diverse, multi-functional finance group across time zones is a plus.
• Must be able to integrate knowledge across various disciplines and work across multi-disciplinary teams.
• Independent worker and thinker with the ability to follow up on time sensitive issues, with the ability to drive others.
• A team player with the ability to communicate effectively and develop good working relationships across multiple levels and organizational boundaries.
• Ability to understand the business with a curious mindset and to validate proper translation into the financial statements
• Well written and spoken English skills
