Title and Summary
Senior Accountant Overview:This Senior Accountant - Consolidations will play an important role in delivering high-quality accounting services to Mastercard. The candidate will be responsible for delivering timely and accurate accounting services including the financial month-end close process.
Role:
Major Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
• Prepare account analysis, roll forwards, and reconciliations at a global level, including CTA, Equity, Non-controlling interest, Money Market funds etc.
• Manage quarter end close activities and key deliverable timelines, coordinate the quarter end balance sheet analysis.
• Research and correct account discrepancies
• Prepare footnotes and supporting schedules to ensure integrity of quarterly SEC filings.
• Perform the accounting for Corporate transactions typically include capital injections, dividends, legal entities open, close, or structure changes.
• Collaborate with technical accounting and controllerships to support new acquisitions accounting, including purchase accounting, OBS, and trial balance loads.
• Record monthly general ledger journal entries in compliance with U.S. GAAP, supporting various business units, regions and/or corporate controller's group .
• Drive process improvements to enhance accounting operational efficiency, output quality, and cross-functional synergies.
• Support various ad-hoc reporting, analysis, or special projects as needed.
All About You:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
• Prior public accounting experience is a plus.
• Progressive experience in an accounting/finance, ideally within a large, global organization.
• Strong understanding of fundamental accounting principles and concepts.
• Proven ability to produce high-quality work under tight deadlines.
• Experience with financial/ERP systems; Oracle exposure and MS office software proficiency preferred.
• Adaptable to change with strong organizational and prioritization skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent communication, relationship-building and follow-up skills.
