Title and Summary
Risk & Controls Manager (Product Management) OverviewThe Cross-border Services Global Product Team is looking for a Risk SME to lead and enhance our product management risk program. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly motivated, and comfortable operating with ambiguity in a fast-paced, matrixed organisation.
Role
• Product Risk Management Framework: Develop and maintain frameworks to identify, assess, and mitigate risks across the cross-border product lifecycle.
• Controls & Governance: Embed controls aligned to policies and local regulatory requirements; monitor effectiveness and drive timely remediation through risk and product governance forums.
• Risk event management: Lead end-to-end management of risk events - detection, classification, remediation, and lessons learned - ensuring consistent documentation and executive visibility as per risk governance structure.
• Reporting: Provide leadership with visibility on risk exposure, trends, and remediation; drive continuous control improvement
• Product regulatory framework: Developing the framework to gauge local regulatory scope of implications for cross-border transactions, i.e. permissions, licensing, use case requirements and other considerations.
• Regulatory change management model: Developing framework for regulatory changes as related to cross-border payments business; Work with legal entity and across business to ensure Regulatory Changes are addressed by respective functions.
• Functional Interface: Act as single liaison between Product and functional (Risk, Regulatory, Compliance, Legal, and others).
All About You
The ideal candidate for this position should:
• Extensive experience within the financial services industry focused on one or more of the following areas: enterprise risk management, operational risk management, risk / regulatory consulting, risk assurance, financial regulator. Additional experience in regulatory compliance, financial crime and data protection is a plus
• Ability to operate with high autonomy on open-ended problems in a fast-moving, highly matrixed environment, while managing multi-stakeholder engagements across multiple regions
• Understanding of current payment trends and developments from a risk or regulatory perspective; experience in cross-border payments flows is an advantage
• Ability to challenge established views and assumptions at all levels and facilitate/lead discussions
• Demonstrated expertise in identifying opportunities for continuous process improvement, enhancing efficiencies, and streamlining
• Get the job done. Track record of driving outcomes, managing complexity, and influencing senior stakeholders, with strong ownership of complex cross-enterprise projects
• Eligibility to work in the UK
• Experience with risk-management software and tools; OpenPages is a plus
