Manager, Product Management (In Car Payments) Overview

In partnership with regional Merchant and Acceptance teams and cross-functional partners around the globe, Global Acceptance Solutions works to expand merchant acceptance and help merchants and acquirers grow their businesses through Acceptance solutions and programs. At its essence, building acceptance is about driving the secular shift from cash to electronic payments, with the promise of giving consumers the best payment experience – one that's fast, convenient and secure.

Focussing on underpenetrated verticals, the Global Acceptance team is looking for a Manager, Product Management, to build out and co-ordinate our approach within in car payments. With the current focus on building out our acceptance in the EV charging space with a new EMV standard a swathe of new use cases will follow suit after the launch of this . The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, intellectually curious, analytical, and excited by the challenge of balancing the needs of many diverse stakeholders.
The Manager, Product Management - Urban Mobility will be focused on the creation and execution of Mastercard's strategy to embed our solutions at the heart of in car payments. This individual will work across a range of diverse internal and external stakeholders to assess our current offering as to what works, what doesn't and what isn't in existence yet. The individual will build on this assessment to gather more detailed requirements, business case and execution plan (in collaboration with a range of stakeholders) to develop a programme, governance and tracking for our in car payments workstream.

Role
• As part of a multifunctional team work to support Mastercard's in car payments strategy. Collaborate with internal stakeholders, building a coalition to progress the product through the first phases of its lifecycle. Interface with external customers, including issuers, technology partners, OEMs and merchants, to ensure challenges and opportunities are fully understood and captured.
• Takes an active role in delivering our in car payments strategy with a range of internal and external stakeholder with a data-driven approach and critical mindset to benchmark where our products are against market expectations (and competitors) and look at product enhancements, identifying opportunity areas and contributing to the Product roadmap, prioritizing work to deliver against key areas of focus
• Develop and refine a product value proposition that resonates internally and with our in car payments customers, and work with the marketing and user experience teams to create corresponding sales materials.
• Participate in cross-functional teams (e.g. Product, Product Management-Technical, CX&D) in the development of business requirements to achieve our Urban Mobility objectives
• Plan & track product performance and develop ideas for product enhancements to address emerging customer requirements or scale customer adoption.
• Continuously monitors the in car payments landscape as to trends in the market and detailed competitor analysis and how this compares to our product and solutions.
• Works with the wider team to implement feature development and associated defects at the platform product level as well as runtime operational metrics for in-market capabilities
• Own and deliver on post-launch reviews and customer feedback, drive the associated actions, and incorporates feedback into future launch plans
• Whilst this role primarily focusses on driving the mandate around in car payments, as part of the wider urban mobility team they will be involved in a range of projects that also drive our relevance in this space.

All About You Experience/Education requirements
• Bachelor's degree required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to understand and explain technical issues to a non-technical audience
• Programme management and strong project management skills required, where you can demonstrate having pulled together a number of diverse stakeholders and driven a project forward to keep on track and where appropriate pivoting to address challenges along the way.
• Strong experience and knowledge of the business drivers and technology of consumer payments, especially tokenization and authentication.
• Awareness and understanding of Mastercard's key customers, partners, and external stakeholders in the in car payments and Urban Mobility Space
• Comfortable rapidly absorbing complex business and technical knowledge. You seek out daunting intellectual challenges as a pastime.
• Possess a blend of analytical capability, strategic thinking, and emotional intelligence and able to dive deep on all areas of the business to deliver creative solutions to unstructured problems.
• Comfortable communicating strategy, project status, and complex ideas to executive leadership.
• Willing to hear new ideas and objectively consider challengers in the interest of achieving the best possible customer outcomes.
