Title and Summary

Manager, Market Transformation & Localization in AP, Localization Program Office 1. Overview of Localization Program Office (LPO)

The LPO is driving MA's response to growing national sovereignty agendas, increased competition from domestic schemes and/or alternative payment methods. The team also explores ways to capture opportunities in these dynamic payment landscapes.

We partner with market teams as well as regional and global functions to develop and execute strategies that expand, position and defend our domestic relevance. We focus on commercial outcomes, unlocking opportunities by positioning Mastercard as a strong ecosystem partner for governments, regulators and beyond.

The LPO also leads Mastercard Futures, a company-wide program bringing strategic focus to growth markets and leveraging flagship government partnerships to unlock and accelerate commercial growth.

2. Role.

Main objective of the role is the development and execution of strategies together with market and functional teams to drive market transformation and strengthen and/or defend our domestic relevance.
The Manager will identify risks and opportunities, be able to articulate them into a strategy, design of an appropriate response/action plan and manage the execution collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

This includes
• Communicate and connect regularly with markets to capture relevant trends and requirements, identifying and managing initiatives in scope of localization
• Explore the deployment of our assets (includes both solutions, advocacy, campaigns, etc) to enable MA to strengthen our local relevance and generate value / opportunities
• Capture and leverage lessons learned to introduce and/or scale successful approaches in more markets
• Formulate plans bringing together Country Teams, with Tech, Product, Services, Finance, LFI, Policy, other functions to drive commercial growth through joint localization efforts
• Manage complex, cross-functional projects with local, regional and global participants
• Engage with external stakeholders alongside teams in the market
• Develop and improve our localization approach to ensure solutions are replicable from one market to the next and can scale profitably

3. All About You

You have a proven track record in consulting, strategy, business development, or product development/management in the payments industry. You have worked across multiple markets and gained a deep understanding of evolving trends and requirements across payment rails. You have project management experience, a good understanding of Mastercard's solutions portfolio, and you are comfortable working in large cross functional teams and the complexities of a global role.

We are looking for experience in at least two to three of the following areas
• Consulting, strategy, project management
• Engagements with governments, regulators and partners in public sector
• Business Development with exposure/understanding of our AP markets
• Product Development/Management
• Functional understanding of payments technology and trends

• Comfortable interacting with senior stakeholders
• Strong ability to work across business units and regional boundaries
• Self-motivated, thrives in a fast-paced environment; willingness to go the extra mile
• Strong relationship management and communication skills
• Undergraduate degree required. MBA or graduate degree preferred
• Willingness to work across time zones in a global team
• Ability to travel (subject to travel restrictions)
