Overview

The Mastercard Europe Finance team is currently hiring a candidate to support the Belux Cluster (Belgium & Luxembourg) at Mastercard. The Manager plays a key role in assessing the financial impact of strategic and market development activities for the cluster and act as important financial advisor and business partner. The role will report to the Division Finance Officer of Western Europe (WE) and will be in charge of planning, reporting and other finance tasks for the Belux Cluster. The Manager should have a Finance background, with experience from Planning and Accounting role as well as strong analytics & business partnering skills. The position is based in Waterloo.

Role

• Responsible for a broad range of finance related activities and acts as a finance generalist for the Belux cluster while being an active member of the country's management teams
• Manage the P&L & analyze the financial performance: support general managers and management teams to achieve financial results, highlighting risks & opportunities and providing recommendation/ guidance for business to take appropriate business decision.
• Drive and lead Forecast, Budget & LRP processes at market level.
• Manage deals: Support/challenge Account Managers in preparing deals and customer visits, track deals performance and ensure appropriate accounting treatment
• Drive controllership excellence amongst the business team across the markets, educating them with new accounting principles, policies & procedures
• Partner with regions, business units, business partners and/or European Finance to assist in developing, analyzing and validating new business opportunities.
• Develop and produce regular reporting to update management on financial and business performance
• Build strong relationships with WE Division Finance Officer and WE Finance team, Country Managers and their management team, Account managers, the different Europe Finance teams

All About You

The ideal candidate for this position should:
• Have a University degree in Finance or related field
• Demonstrate strong professional experience with a relevant qualification in business and/ or finance discipline
• Have a broad understanding and experience of the various areas of Finance
• Understand the MasterCard business and the overall market dynamic, including competition.
• Have excellent communication and influencing skills to liaise with senior management level and to provide coaching and training
• Oversee successfully and execute the completion of global, complex management reporting (e.g. monthly financial results, quarterly forecasting, annual budgets)
• Be experienced with financial systems and applications (e.g.. Hyperion, Oracle); have excellent knowledge of Excel; have good verbal and writing skills
• Be able to establish priorities and to work independently
• Be a team player, analytical, results driven, flexible and adaptable
• Be structured and well organized, able to work efficiently under pressure and with tight deadlines
• Be fluent in English. Dutch & French are an asset.
