The Mastercard Account Management team is dedicated to building strong relationships with Banks and Financial Institutions and driving the adoption of Mastercard Products and Services.
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Account Manager to join our Global Accounts Team, dedicated to managing a key global client operating in 13 countries. The successful candidate will become part of a team of 4 professionals, responsible for overseeing the business in Italy as well as coordinating local account teams across all other markets.
This role combines client relationship management, strategic business development, and global coordination, focused on the Financial Institutions sector.
Key Responsibilities:
Account Management: Lead and support the development of the client relationship in Italy, ensuring satisfaction, retention, and growth of business.
Global Coordination: Collaborate closely with local account managers across 13 countries to ensure alignment, knowledge sharing, and delivery of consistent client experience globally.
Strategic Advisory: Act as a trusted advisor to the client, bringing strategic insights into and solutions to address business challenges.
Sales Leadership: Identify and drive new opportunities within the client organization, working cross-functionally to deliver tailored offerings.
Executive Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders and executives at both local and international levels.
Reporting & Analysis: Provide in-depth analytical support to drive decision-making and measure performance across markets.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with internal stakeholders including product, marketing, and delivery teams to support client needs and ensure operational excellence.
Qualifications:
7–8 years of experience in sales and/or strategic consulting, preferably within the Financial Institutions sector.
Demonstrated ability to manage complex client relationships and multi-country account structures.
Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with experience delivering insight-driven recommendations.
Proven track record of interacting with and influencing C-level executives and senior international stakeholders.
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, etc.).
Excellent communication skills in English and other European languages are a plus.
Experience working in international or matrixed organizations is highly desirable.
