Title and Summary

Lead Software Engineer Overview:
Mastercard Franchise and Legal Solutions program is looking for a high-energy, detail-oriented Lead Software Engineer to join team that will be tasked to build a product for customer compliance and fraud detection/prevention.

This position will lead software engineering projects, develop high quality software, and deliver enhanced software solutions.

Role
• Leads software engineering projects and creates the development and delivery of enhanced software solutions. Hands-on developer who writes high quality, secure code that is modular, functional, and testable.
• Research alternative technical solutions for changing business needs.
• Responsible for managing the overall cloud architecture and investigation of new technologies to help the platform evolve at the speed of business
• Create solutions with high level of innovation, cost effectiveness, high quality and faster time to market.
• Master of design principles such as DRY, Single Responsibility, SOLID
• Lead day to day system development and maintenance activities of the team to meet service level agreements (SLAs). Drives measurable improvements in the maintenance, operational and runtime characteristics of your team's software.
• Collaborate with business and technical partners to identify and scope the opportunities, outline potential value and ROI, identify risks, benefits and constraints.
• Develop overall strategic technical plan and create architecture proposals based on identified solution gaps. As recognized subject matter expert, lead planning, design and implementation of technical solutions
• Partner with Technical Project Managers in implementation of processes per the evolving needs of the team and the solutions.
• Ensure adequate test coverage in Unit Testing, System Testing/Integration Testing and Performance Testing. Perform Quality Inspections and Walkthroughs throughout the SDLC including Requirements Review, Architecture Review, Design Review, Code Review and Security Review to ensure compliance with MasterCard standards. Support collection and reporting of project and software metrics.
• Actively look for opportunities to enhance standards and improve process efficiency.
• Mentor and guide other team members during all phases of the SDLC
• Successfully lead production incident and problem management, identification of root cause and permanently correct within application and dependent systems.
• Develop documentation templates, lead and enforce development of documentation throughout the development lifecycle of the solution.
• Ensure compliance of Audit Requirements by proactively educating team on Compliance Requirements and Integrating Compliance Requirements in SDLC. Represent team during Compliance Audits.
• Advocate principles through speaking engagements outside of current organization/platform
• Comprehensive knowledge of team architecture. Makes trade-offs between short terms and long-term needs
• Provides input into performance appraisal process for junior employees

Technology Skills
• Object-oriented design and programming
• Java, Spring, Spring boot, Microservices
• REST API development
• Spring, JPA, Hibernate, RDBMS, Oracle, JDBC
• Hands-on experience of front-end technology stack like React JS and/or Angular is added advantage
• Jenkins CI/CD, Sonar integration
• Tomcat

Job Specific Experiences
• Knowledge with Pivotal Cloud Foundry or any other cloud platform AWS or Azure or GCP is preferred.
• Experience in delivering secure solutions in Financial Services Sector is preferred.
• Advanced knowledge and understanding of Software Engineering concepts and methodologies is required.
• Strong communication skills -- both verbal and written, collaboration skills and organizational skills
• Ability to quickly learn and implement new technologies, frameworks, tools and support multiple concurrent activities.
• Ability to adapt to a fast-changing environment.
