Overview
The Director of Software Engineering is a strategic leader responsible for shaping technical vision, driving innovation, and ensuring delivery excellence across multiple engineering teams. This role combines deep technical expertise with strong leadership to deliver high-quality, customer-centric solutions that align with business objectives.
Role
Leadership & Strategy
• Define and execute the engineering roadmap aligned with organizational goals.
• Lead and mentor multiple engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation and accountability.
• Champion best practices and continuous improvement across the software development lifecycle.
Technical Excellence
• Oversee architecture and design for cloud-native platforms and microservices.
• Drive adoption of modern engineering practices including CI/CD, DevOps, and automated testing.
• Ensure systems are secure, scalable, and resilient.
Delivery & Operations
• Manage end-to-end delivery of software products, ensuring quality and timeliness.
• Collaborate with product, design, and business stakeholders to prioritize and deliver impactful solutions.
• Monitor KPIs and implement strategies for operational efficiency.
Stakeholder Engagement
• Communicate technical decisions and project updates to senior leadership.
• Build strong partnerships across cross-functional teams to achieve shared objectives.
All about you
Qualifications
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Years of experience in software development, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Proven track record of managing large, distributed engineering teams.
• Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), microservices architecture, and API design.
• Strong knowledge of programming languages (Java, Python, C++) and modern frameworks.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and scaling engineering practices.
