Title and Summary
Director, Legal Entity Management OverviewThe Mastercard Transaction Services (MTS) team is looking for a Legal Entity Manager who will be responsible for the day-to-day management of its licensed European entity, and other licensed entities. It is a Director level role based out of Waterloo, Belgium, reporting to the global head of MTS Legal Entity Management. The role also requires regulatory interaction as the National Bank of Belgium (NBB) views the person in-situ as an ‘Effective Manager' of the entity. The incumbent must have Belgian residency. This is a great opportunity for the successful candidate to play a key role in MTS's operational success, as it will require global collaboration across functions and regions while ensuring compliance with local jurisdictional requirements. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned professional with good business acumen, as well as a passion for good governance & regulatory compliance. It is also important for this individual to be highly motivated, intellectually curious, analytical, and possess an entrepreneurial mindset. The ability to operate independently and execute across a diverse set of stakeholders is critical.
Role
• Provide day-to-day oversight and governance of the entity (as an ‘Effective Manager' in the eyes of the National Bank of Belgium) including running recurring entity management meetings and collaborating with relevant teams to ensure the sound operational and regulatory compliant performance of the entity
• Provide effective check and challenge around relevant topics for the entity, (e.g. new business, regulatory change, reorganization...); identify risks and issues for escalation to senior management
• Organize, steer and assess the internal control framework as regards the independent control functions (e.g. risk management practices)
• Consolidate and aggregate entity-specific information to maintain a comprehensive view of the entity (e.g. via an entity profile that outlines key details including the purpose of entity, services offered, license types, permissions, customer base, staffing)
All About You
The ideal candidate for this position should have:
• Strong understanding and experience in operating within regulated environments
preferably within the Financial Services or Payments Technology industry
• Extensive experience in cross divisional internal collaboration and external engagement to deliver on strategic company initiatives Experience driving process reengineering across business initiatives
• Experience driving process reengineering across business initiatives
• Ability to work effectively in a matrix organizational structure
• Strong communication skills, both written (report writing) and verbal (presentation skills); and engaging with senior leadership
• Strong attention to detail
