Overview:

As Director, Digital Wallet Lead, you will be at the forefront of Mastercard's strategy to shape the future of digital payments across the region. This is a high-impact, solution-driven role—leading how Mastercard brings its digital capabilities to life across a broad spectrum of wallet partners and ecosystems. You will lead our efforts to partner with closed-loop wallets, telco wallets and domestic scheme wallets to power seamless, secure, and scalable payment experiences, leveraging Mastercard capabilities such as Mastercard Virtual Card Token (MVCT), Mastercard PayByAccount (PBA), and innovative tokenization enablement solutions.

We are seeking a strategic and execution-focused leader with deep expertise in digital payments and wallet solutions, capable of fostering high-value partnerships, guiding cross-functional execution, and delivering scalable innovation that aligns with both partner needs and Mastercard's long-term goals.

Role and Responsibilities:

•Strategy & Roadmap: Define and execute the wallet strategy for the region, aligning with Mastercard's global direction while tailoring to local market needs and opportunities.
•Product Ownership & Solution Enablement: Own and lead the end-to-end product lifecycle for digital wallet-enablement products & solutions—such as Mastercard Virtual Card Token (MVCT), Mastercard PayByAccount (PBA), and other emerging tokenization enablement —from concept through go-to-market, ensuring alignment with region's strategies and Mastercard's digital roadmap.
•Market & Competitive Analysis: Track market trends, evolving consumer behavior, regulatory developments, and emerging technologies (e.g., CBDCs, Web3, biometrics) to identify new opportunities and inform our wallet strategy.
•Go-to-Market Strategy and Commercialization: Collaborate with regional sales, marketing, and solutioning teams to develop and execute partner-specific go-to-market plans, driving wallet activation and usage. Establish KPIs to measure wallet partner success, monitor progress, and adjust engagement models or product positioning to achieve meaningful market impact.
•Technical & Regulatory Alignment: Work with engineering, compliance, and product teams to ensure solutions meet required technical, security, and regulatory standards—while delivering frictionless partner integration.
•Internal Leadership & Influence: Serve as the wallet strategy lead for the region, providing clear direction, driving cross-functional alignment, and shaping Mastercard's regional roadmap through market feedback and insights.

Experience and Qualifications:

•10+ years of progressive experience in product management or product leadership roles, with a significant portion dedicated to digital payments, fintech, or mobile commerce.
•Minimum of 7+ years of direct experience in leading and delivering digital wallet products or similar consumer-facing payment solutions within a large-scale organization.
•Deep understanding of the global payments ecosystem, including payment schemes, issuing and acquiring processes, payment networks, and regulatory frameworks.
•Proven expertise in digital wallet technologies, including mobile payments, tokenization, NFC, QR codes, biometrics, and strong customer authentication (SCA).
•Demonstrated success in defining and executing product strategies that have resulted in significant market adoption and business growth.
•Strong business acumen with the ability to understand market dynamics, financial models, and P&L implications.
•Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
•Strategic thinker with the ability to translate complex market insights and technological advancements into actionable product roadmaps.
•Technical fluency to engage effectively with engineering teams and understand architectural considerations.
•Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree is highly preferred.
