Director, Business Process Improvement (GBSC Strategy & Transformation) OVERIVIEW
Mastercard's Global Business Solutions Center (GBSC) is dedicated to helping the organization transform their business operations to achieve higher efficiency, effectiveness, and agility. Today, with over 1,200 dedicated colleagues worldwide, the GBSC supports more than 200 services across 89 countries spanning all business units. By leveraging a comprehensive suite of services and solutions, the Strategy, Enablement and Transformation Team is one of the key foundational pillars that supports overall GBSC and enterprise stakeholders in optimizing their business to drive value and enhance performance.

As we head into our next phase in advancing our commitment to our stakeholders, the GBSC is seeking to hire a Director, GBSC Strategy and Transformation based in O'Fallon, MO. This leader will be responsible for driving the execution of the GBSC-wide strategy and transformation roadmap. This role focuses on translating high-level strategic priorities into actionable plans and ensuring effective delivery of initiatives that support both GBSC and Enterprise-level goals. Reporting into senior leadership, this individual will lead the day-to-day coordination, tracking, and execution of key transformation programs, working closely with initiative owners, functional teams, and key partners to ensure alignment, remove roadblocks, and deliver results. The Director plays a critical role in advancing the GBSC Strategic Pillars—Evolve Foundations, Enable Solutions, and Expand Services—by driving the mobilization of cross-functional efforts across People, Culture, Partnership, Technology, and AI.

ROLE
• Lead the execution of the GBSC multi-year transformation strategy by developing detailed initiative roadmaps, defining milestones and KPIs, and collaborating closely with initiative owners and functional leaders to ensure successful delivery aligned with enterprise objectives
• Manage and develop a team of transformation professionals to drive process optimization, standardization, and scalability
• Partner with technology and process teams to implement innovation and automation initiatives, including enterprise AI strategies
• Oversee the delivery of multi-year cost and efficiency programs by tracking progress against savings targets and benefits realization, ensuring alignment with operational excellence goals
• Support the operationalization of the GBSC operating model by maintaining governance frameworks, reporting structures, and portfolio oversight
• Coordinate cross-functional efforts for new service integrations and business expansion.
• Manage day-to-day third-party vendor relationships, including monitoring performance, resolving issues, and coordinating contract activities
• Provide oversight for financial management processes such as budgeting, forecasting, resource allocation, and enforcing financial discipline
• Build and sustain strong relationships across GBSC and enterprise stakeholders to facilitate effective initiative execution, drive change adoption, and act as a key liaison between delivery teams and senior leadership

ALL ABOUT YOU
• Strong strategic execution skills with proven ability to translate high-level goals into actionable plans and measurable outcomes
• Experience managing complex, cross-functional programs and leading teams responsible for process optimization and transformation initiatives
• Solid understanding of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, resource planning, and cost control in large-scale operations
• Expertise in vendor and third-party relationship management, including performance oversight and contract coordination
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across multiple levels and functions
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify risks, dependencies, and course correct as needed
• Experience operating in fast-paced, complex, and global environments, balancing competing priorities and influencing without direct authority
• Proficiency with program governance frameworks, reporting tools, and performance tracking methodologies
• Collaborative leadership style focused on team development, empowerment, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement

Pay Range

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role.
