Director - AI & Digital, Services Business Development Africa Overview

Services within Mastercard is responsible for acquiring, engaging, and retaining customers by managing fraud and risk, enhancing cybersecurity, and improving the digital payments experience. We provide value-added services and leverage expertise, data-driven insights, and execution.

As a member of our sales team, you will be on the frontlines - building excitement and generating demand for our unique services - while partnering with solutions experts to achieve the desired end. Role Description and Major Responsibilities
• Lead sales calls and new client development across AI & Digital topics for all accounts in Africa as part of the EEMEA AI & Digital Business Development team
• Together with existing team, support shaping Mastercard Services AI & Digital growth strategy in Africa and execute against that strategy
• Identify the most critical aspects of problems clients or markets are facing to determine new business opportunities
• Build and leverage deep knowledge of all the Mastercard Advisors capabilities and how they fit together to create customized and relevant solutions for clients solving for their needs
• Leverage subject matter experts to develop best customized proposals for the clients
• Support the sales process from prospecting to executing commercial contracts and as well as continuously manage the sales pipeline
• Write well-structured and persuasive proposals and communicate with executives to pursue
• Develop and maintain strong professional relationships and partnerships with mid-level client management team
• Align efforts with Mastercard core team for sales success, including managing external obstacles and maintaining leadership alignment and support
• Partner with project teams to ensure projects' quality and identification of follow-up sales opportunities
• Play a key role in creation of new Intellectual Capital and become “thought partner” for Clients
• Actively participate in recruiting, training and developing others

All About You

Education Needed
• Undergraduate degree required
• MBA or relevant post graduate degree recommended

Experience and Skills Needed

• Experience in top management consulting firms and in relevant industry
• Knowledge of payments market, trends and opportunities
• Demonstrates the ability to initiate, develop, and close a sale
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent analytical skills, including ability to frame the customer's opportunity in financial terms (i.e. value quantification)
• Ability to think from the perspective of the customer
• Ability to gain consensus with others and coordinate team of consultants and subject matter experts around goal
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Advanced Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills
• Proficiency in written and verbal English has context menu
