Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Account Management to drive our efforts in the Small and Medium Business (SMB) segment and cross-product initiatives in support of one of our largest, most strategic Financial Institution partners. This role will be instrumental in shaping and executing initiatives including segment research, innovation engagements, B2B events, as well as other high-impact efforts tailored to the SMB audience. As our partnership with the bank grows, this leader will also flex to lead a variety of strategic product initiatives across portfolios, providing critical leadership where it's needed most to meet business needs.

We're looking for someone who brings a strategic lens to every challenge, can connect the dots across teams, products, and customer needs, and is comfortable with ambiguity. You'll work closely with customers to identify their needs and develop solutions to address them. Similarly, you will also work with cross-functional partners to identify opportunities, shape go-to-market strategies, and drive initiatives from concept to impact.

Role
Lead and grow our efforts in the Small and Medium Business (SMB) segment, including but not limited to segment research, innovation engagements, B2B hosting events, as well as other high-impact programs.
Drive strategy and execution for new and evolving business opportunities with the bank, offering strategic leadership across key product areas and scaling support for future initiatives as they emerge.
Serve as a key partner in shaping future strategic initiatives that deepen our relationship with the bank.
Develop and strengthen collaborative relationships with key stakeholders to drive alignment and unlock new opportunities.
Act as a flexible, high-impact contributor who can pivot quickly to support new product development and go-to-market strategies.
Collaborate cross-functionally with product, marketing, partnerships, finance and executive teams to identify opportunities and drive initiatives forward.
Bring a strategic lens to all efforts—this is not an execution-only role; you'll be expected to think big, connect dots, and influence direction.

Leverages market insights and a deep understanding of portfolio dynamics to identify opportunities where Mastercard products and solutions can meet customer needs and drive growth—fueled by a passion for innovation, experimentation, and continuous learning.
Understands Mastercard products and solutions and can demonstrate the value proposition they offer to customers to differentiate Mastercard
Comfortable with consultative sales – must be able to identify potential opportunities and drive to tangible sales to meet business targets and goals.
Collaborates well with customers and internally with cross-functional business partners. Must be able to navigate complex issues across multiple stakeholders at all levels of the organization independently.
Brings strong analytical capabilities, including comfort working with data, building financial models, and using insights to inform strategic decisions and drive business outcomes.
Possesses superior presentation and written/verbal communication skills.
Comfortable navigating ambiguity and driving clarity in fast-paced, evolving environments.
Deep knowledge of the card and payments industry.
Location: NYC or Purchase, NY

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Mastercard benefits for full time (and certain part time) employees generally include: insurance (including medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, disability, life insurance); flexible spending account and health savings account; paid leaves (including 16 weeks of new parent leave and up to 20 days of bereavement leave); 80 hours of Paid Sick and Safe Time, 25 days of vacation time and 5 personal days, pro-rated based on date of hire; 10 annual paid U.S. observed holidays; 401k with a best-in-class company match; deferred compensation for eligible roles; fitness reimbursement or on-site fitness facilities; eligibility for tuition reimbursement; and many more.

Purchase, New York: $164,000 - $263,000 USD New York City, New York: $172,000 - $275,000 USD
