Title and Summary

Country Manager - Baltics About the Role
The Country Manager for the Baltics will oversee Mastercard's operations, strategy, and performance across Estonia, Lithuania, and Latvia. Reporting to divisional leadership, this role serves as the face of Mastercard in the Baltics, managing the Financial Institutions (FI) business and leading a cross-functional team to drive growth and innovation in these markets.

You will be responsible for setting and executing country strategies, ensuring regulatory compliance, and strengthening Mastercard's brand and relationships with stakeholders, including customers, regulators, and policymakers. This key leadership role focuses on achieving ambitious financial targets while establishing Mastercard as a trusted partner and thought leader in the payments ecosystem. The role report directly to the Scandinavia, Finland and Baltics Cluster Lead.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic and Market Leadership
• Develop and execute strategies for Estonia, Lithuania, and Latvia to drive revenue growth, market share, and product diversification.
• Lead the Financial Institutions business across the Baltic markets, ensuring alignment with divisional and global priorities.
• Establish and manage a regional cross-functional team forum to coordinate initiatives and foster collaboration across the Baltic markets.
• Monitor regulatory environments in all three countries, ensuring compliance and proactively engaging with relevant authorities.

Business Development and Relationship Building
• Build and maintain strong relationships with diverse stakeholders, including customers, authorities, and regulators at the C-suite level across the Baltics.
• Leverage Mastercard products and services to create innovative partnerships, drive new business opportunities, and expand Mastercard's ecosystem in the region.
• Identify and capitalize on market opportunities, delivering customer-focused solutions tailored to regional needs.

Regulatory and Brand Advocacy
• Drive Mastercards strategic position in the Baltics markets, and in collaboration with Marketing and Communication shaping the brands overall image and perception to enhance the brand preference.
• Represent Mastercard at key customer-facing events and industry forums across the region, positioning the company as a thought leader in payments.
• Work with the central public policy team to drive region-specific policy agendas and engage in regulatory discussions in all three countries.

Operational and Financial Accountability
• Own the P&L for the Baltics, driving consistent revenue growth and managing financial planning, budgeting, and reporting for the region.
• Report performance metrics, market insights, and key developments to the divisional management team, ensuring alignment with regional goals.
• Ensure operational excellence by fostering effective collaboration and alignment across the region's markets.

Team Leadership and Culture
• Inspire and develop a high-performing, cross-functional team across the three countries, fostering a collaborative and inclusive culture.
• Actively identify and nurture talent within the region, promoting diversity, innovation, and continuous learning within the team.

What You Bring
Leadership and Strategic Vision
• Proven success in a leadership role managing multiple markets or a regional cluster, including P&L responsibility.
• Strong track record of creating long-term strategies and translating them into actionable plans to achieve market growth.

Commercial and Business Development Expertise
• Demonstrated ability to deliver innovative solutions for customers, enabling business opportunities and driving measurable results.
• Experience building and maintaining relationships with C-suite executives, regulators, and other key stakeholders across multiple markets.

Regulatory Acumen
• Comprehensive understanding of the regulatory environment in the Baltics, with a proven ability to engage effectively with governments and regulatory bodies.

Team Leadership and Development
• Experience leading cross-functional teams across different markets, inspiring collaboration across diverse skill sets and organizational levels.
• Proven success in hiring, developing, and retaining talent, while building inclusive and innovative team environments.

Broader Capabilities
• Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage and align diverse internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience translating strategic objectives into operational plans and overseeing their execution across multiple markets.
