Title and Summary

Account Manager, Services Business Development, Retail & Commerce Services is a key differentiator for Mastercard, providing cutting-edge services that help our customers grow. Focused on thinking big and scaling fast around the globe, this agile team is responsible for end-to-end solutions for a diverse global customer base. Centered on data-driven technologies and innovation, these services include consulting, loyalty and marketing programs, business experimentation, and data-driven information and risk management services.

The Retail & Commerce team is looking for a Sales Account Manager for Strategic Accounts to drive our customer experience strategy forward by consistently innovating and problem-solving.

The Role:
• Managing a portfolio of 5 to 7 strategic clients.
• Pitching, selling, and managing a diverse portfolio of Mastercard Services' products.
• Cross and upselling with quotable references to share.
• Maintaining and building new external relationships with client stakeholders at any level of the organization, i.e. from C-Level down to individual teams.
• Leveraging and deepening internal relationships with adjacent lines of business.
• Reviewing accounts regularly internally and with client to progress jointly agreed multi-year account development plans.


All About You:

Commercial Acumen
• Proven track record of managing high-profile global brands in Retail, FMCG/CPG, or consumer-facing services (e.g., Food Delivery, Ride Sharing, Travel).
• Skilled in identifying cross-sell and upsell opportunities with measurable impact.
• Strong market awareness with the ability to monitor competition and adapt strategies.

Customer Orientation
• Deeply customer-centric, with the ability to anticipate needs and translate them into actionable solutions.
• Passionate about delivering seamless and profitable customer experiences.

Communication & Collaboration
• Fluent in English and German, with the ability to communicate effectively across both languages.
• Confident communicator, able to clearly explain complex problems and solutions to diverse stakeholders.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present compelling business cases.
• Experienced relationship builder with the ability to expand networks and act as a trusted advisor.
