Description
OVERVIEW: The Shop Foreman is responsible for maintaining efficient work flow in the Service Department and conducting quality checks after a technician has completed work. Additionally, the shop foreman will assist with troubleshooting when necessary and coordinate and maintain efficient workflow of the yard.
POSITION RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports To: Service Manager
Key Internal Relationships: Service Advisor, Warranty Administrator, Technicians, Yard and Parts Personnel, Parts Department
Direct Reports: N/A
KEY TASKS:
- Communicate well with Service Manager, Technicians and Service Advisors
- Report performance and/.or disciplinary issues to the appropriate department manager.
- Supply information back to Parts Department when needed
- Advise technicians, if needed, on technical advice
- Maintain cooperative relationships with fellow employees
- Conserve shop supplies as appropriate
- Maintain dealership equipment to ensure good working order and coordinate all maintenance- maintaining repair and maintenance logs.
- Follow safety rules and regulations and wear proper protective gear
- Instruct team on safety procedures
- Wear proper protective gear
- Keep shop tools and equipment clean and in proper working order
- Maintain an organized yard and shop
- Assist with equipment operation when necessary
- Coordinate all yard activities
- Embracing and reinforcing company policy and procedures
- Other duties as assigned
