Job Summary

Responsible for the preparation, analysis and maintenance of financial reporting, budgets, and records for Lexington Medical Center (LMC). Must be able to skillfully analyze, understand, explain and apply accounting principles and budget techniques and procedures in the work performed. Must be able to analyze special projects, as needed.

Essential Functions
  • Coordinate with Physician offices, Lexmed Inc., LMC Foundation and Community Medical Centers regarding budgeting issues.
  • Assist with compilation/preparation of hospital's annual operating and FTE budget.
  • Reviews staff requisitions to ensure FTE budget accuracy and records any changes to the FTE budget appropriate systems.
  • Complete special projects or research various issues to assist management to determine the financial impact.
  • Performs monthly budget analysis, researching trends and/or variances for management review.
  • Corresponds with departmental officials relative to budget requests and revisions.
  • Assist with designing and preparing ad hoc general ledger reports and statements.  
  • Prepare and process journal entries necessary to record transactions prior to month end deadlines. 
  • Analyzes and reconciles assigned general ledger accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Prepares and processes monthly statistic journal entries and ensures statistic relationships are maintained in the budget system to ensure accurate budget projections.
Duties & Responsibilities
  •  Perform a variety of duties related to PHS, LMC Foundation & Lexmed.
  • Assist in month end closing and preparation of reports and financial statements monthly and annually.
  • On a monthly basis perform interface and reconciliation functions with budgetary software.
  • Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in service meetings and workshops.
  • As developments occur or significant concerns arise, advise and update the Budget Manger, Director and other appropriate personnel.  Responsible for recommending improvements, adaptations or revisions in the budgeting system or procedures.  
  • Maintain an optimistic and professional image and exhibit excellent customer relations to   patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers.  Show courtesy, compassion, and respect.   Conform to service excellence policy and "House Rules."
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by authorized personnel, or as required in an emergency (i.e., fire or disaster).
