Job Summary

Leonardo DRS Land Systems is seeking a dedicated Supervisor of Engineering Technician Support to join our Advanced Concepts team for our Bridgeton, MO facility.  The candidate will be responsible for supervising a team of engineering technicians that perform support functions primarily associated with the integration, test and demonstration of new DRS products and capabilities.  They will be responsible for coordinating and executing all business developmment demonstrations and tests which will require travel for direct support, training and logistics coordination up to 50% of the time.  The primary focus is to support Business Development priorities but may also include some contract program objectives.  Engineering support may include functions such as: integration, troubleshooting, testing Line Replaceable Units (LRU) and system level performance, demo and test coordination, test design and setup, design support, modifying equipment or materials, and other technical support.  The Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the team's completion of activities within schedule and budget.  This role demands a highly motivated individual who can work efficiently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment serving multiple customers, campaigns, and programs.

Job Responsibilities
  • Supervise a team of engineering technicians that perform engineering support functions (i.e. integration, troubleshooting, testing, demo coordination, test design and setup, design support, modifying equipment or materials, and other technical support)
  • Responsible for coordinating and executing all business developmment demonstrations and tests which will require travel for direct support, training and logistics coordination up to 50% of the time
  • Responsible for ensuring the team's completion of the activities within schedule and budget
  • Ability to supervise a group independently in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws and regulations
  • Provide technical support and troubleshoot issues during integration/test events, particularly focusing on Internal Research and Design programs
  • Use hands‑on diagnostics and industry tools to troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues, including software installs, imaging, and device configuration
  • Demonstrate leadership abilities by guiding and mentoring team members, as well as managing small teams when necessary
  • Have a strong familiarity with test range operations to effectively manage and conduct tests
  • Review and audit test plans thoroughly to ensure all protocols are followed and facilitate successful test outcomes
  • Work closely with program management, suppliers and partners to ensure seamless operations and integration of various components
  • Understand, manage, and operate within the set test cadences to ensure all tests are performed efficiently and on schedule at each event and across the Business Development portfolio
  • Adapt to flexible test schedules and be prepared to adjust plans as necessary to meet project demands
  • Provide assistance to lesser experienced technicians by communicating work priorities, providing assistance, and verifying accuracy of work
  • Attend appropriate engineering, customer, marketing, and other business meetings
  • Represent DRS in a professional manner at all times, ensuring high standards of conduct and performance
  • Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values, and culture of the organization
Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in Engineering or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to supervise, develop and mentor direct reports
  • Experience in technical support, troubleshooting, and integration of technical systems
  • Familiarity with test range operations and understanding of test cadences preferred
  • Willing and able to travel up to 50% of the time

U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.

 

The salary range for this position is $77,818.00/year- $101,164.00/year for the state of Illinois.  This range reflects the good faith estimate of pay the employer is willing to offer at the time of posting. Several factors can influence the pay scale, including but not limited to: Federal contract labor categories and contract wage rates, collective bargaining agreements, geographic location, business considerations, scope, and responsibilities of the position, local or other applicable market conditions, and internal equity. Other factors include the candidate's qualifications such as prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education/training, and certifications. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for: annual performance-based bonuses, equity awards, and overtime pay (for non-exempt employees as applicable.
