Job SummaryAs a Senior Business Development (BD) Analyst with Leonardo DRS Naval Electronics, you will play a pivotal role in driving our strategic growth initiatives. You will work closely with the BD team and other departments to identify, evaluate, and execute business opportunities that align with our company's goals in the naval defense sector. This position requires a strategic thinker with robust analytical skills and a deep understanding of market dynamics and defense industry requirements.
Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for supporting the development of new streams of revenue (including acquisitions, strategic alliances, and new product development efforts) that expand the range of the company's product and service offerings
- Participate in Business Development team planning and project prioritization; contribute to the entire opportunity development lifecycle
- Perform comprehensive market research and analysis to identify new business opportunities, market trends, and competitive landscape in the naval electronics sector providing insight and reccomendations to senior management
- Stay informed and up to date about industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes affecting the naval defense sector
- Develop and maintain a pipeline of potential business opportunities, partnerships, and technology investments
- Analyze financial data and create models to support business cases, investment decisions, and strategic planning
- Assess, monitor, and report on the performance of current product portfolio, ongoing projects, and business initiatives
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Sales, Product Development, and Program Management, to implement business development strategies
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, economics, marketing or engineering or other related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience
- MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development, strategic planning, or related role within the defense or technology sector
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis
- Strong interpersonal verbal, written, and presentation skills
- Excellent planning and organization, project management, and time management skills
- Knowledge of DRS and competitor products and services
- Ability to think strategically and independently, coupled with a willingness and ability to execute the detailed research and analysis necessary to support conclusions and recommendations
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with CRM software
U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
The expected pay scale for this position is $98,440/year - $140,769/year. Should the level, location, or scope of the position change during the hiring process, the pay scale may be modified accordingly. When extending an offer of employment, Leonardo DRS considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position; any Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, the candidate's relevant work experience, education/training, certifications, and key skills; internal equity; and market and business considerations.
