Job SummaryLeonardo DRS is seeking a Trade Show Logistics Specialist to join our Business Development Marketing Department. The Trade Show Logistics Specialist will own the event function from start to finish while working cross-functionally with the sales and leadership teams, event associations, and other business entities. The Trade Show Logistics Specialist will primarily be responsible for planning and executing DRS trade shows and hosted events. The Trade Show Specialist should have the ability to work with all client types including speakers, sponsors, and event attendees.
The Trade Show Specialist must be familiar with conference and trade show strategies, planning, management, and execution, and can manage all aspects of an event, from beginning to end, while simultaneously balancing other events. The Trade Show Specialist will manage the execution of all marketing activities around local, national, and international trade shows.
This role is hybrid and requires the employee to live in either Melbourne, FL or Huntsville, AL. Extensive travel is required, and will exceed 50%.
- Drive the strategy, execution, and return on investment of trade shows, hosted events, and local field events for 20+ events per year.
- Plan, execute, and manage timelines for sponsorships, and booth space, including logistics such as equipment, exhibitor services, vendors, marketing collateral, and promotional giveaways.
- Establish and maintain strong professional relationships with various trade organizations, vendors, and associations.
- Manage speaking opportunities and proposals.
- Manage the development and implementation of comprehensive marketing plans for events and conferences, including direct mail, email, social media, and digital geofencing advertising.
- Manage an event budget by tracking and reporting on finances, and processing invoices and payments.
- Execute post-show meetings with the business development team.
- Manage product inventory with engineering to ensure all hardware is in working order prior to shipping and upon return from shows/events.
- Responsible for inventory control, tracking & maintenance of all demonstration hardware and trade show hardware.
- Manages hardware for demo requests – includes shipping & receiving, customer correspondence, customer billing (when necessary)
- Responsive to Business Development in support of customer and partner hardware bailments.
- Technical Support to Business Development for customer meetings, demonstrations, and distinguished visitor activities.
- Annual Demo equipment requirements plan for US and International BD teams.
- Equipment maintenance and upgrades including: System diagnostics, ECN to boards and components, Software image updates, Bios and firmware updates, Reconfigure or reassemble computers for correct display, digitizer, and OEM components
- Ensure positive ROI on events.
- Generate leads and execute market tactics that drive booth traffic.
- Secure speaking slots for the sales team and senior-level management.
- Developing a turn-key management system for event logistics & organization
- Successfully execute annual internal events
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing or Business Management or 2-3 years of experience managing 20+ trade shows/events a year is required.
- Knowledge and experience with trade shows including logistics, booth presence, integrated campaigns, etc.
- Experience managing 6 figure budgets.
- Highly organized with strong analytical and reporting skills.
