The Leonardo DRS Land Electronics business provides C4I Network computing and integrated situational awareness, as well as state-of-the-art embedded diagnostics, vehicle power management and combat vehicle integration products and services.

Job Summary

Direct, implement and facilitate all facets of the marketing and communications process supporting the business strategy, goals, culture, and values of the Land Electronics business unit. Provide a uniform and persistent presence across all relevant market domains both domestically and internationally. In leading all marketing and communications activities across the global market, coordinate with and incorporate all stakeholders to include senior leadership and team members from across the corporation, customers, partners, vendors and the broader marketing and communications community.

Job Responsibilities
  • Direct, implement and facilitate all facets of the marketing and communications process supporting the business strategy and goals, culture, and values of the company. Include all adjacent business units as well as subsidiary activities to account for all stakeholders including senior leadership, team members, customers, partners and the broader marketing and communications community. 
  • Provide leadership and professional expertise over the planning, conduct, budgeting, and supervision of domestic and international trade shows. This includes, but is not limited to, nomination and selection of available trade shows, forecasting budgetary and resourcing requirements, planning and supervision of selected equipment sets to deploy, coordination with corporate and other business units for joint business unit or corporate level trade shows as well as the corresponding marketing tasks that gain maximum positive advantage to the execution of the shows. 
  • Develop efficient and effective collateral materials for distribution across multiple media platforms that support and advocate company products, services, and capabilities. This includes digital marketing campaigns and the maintenance of digital photo libraries that support advertising as well as formal and informal proposals to the US government and other industry customers.
  • Provide a range of supporting messaging that enables the BD team and company to deliver a consistent message to the customer base. 
  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise the conduct of product launches. Provide the expertise and leadership over product positioning in the marketspace to enable maximum positive advantage in the introduction of new products and capabilities. 
  • Develop and execute programs designed to project a true and favorable company image to gain market and public support for company objectives. 
  • Provide leadership, guidance and mentoring assistance to all managers and specialists in affiliated public affairs and communications jobs.
  • Provide communications advice and services to the executive leadership; and collect and circulate industry or company related communications materials, answer miscellaneous inquiries about the company and assist as required in all other communications activities – internal and external to the company.
  • Represent the company to various civic, industry, political and charitable organizations. Communicate information consistent with the company's policies and directive and market and public goals.
  • Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values, and culture of the organization.
     
Secondary Responsibilities
  • Provide a full range of external communications assistance to other team members as required and appropriate.
  • Collaborate with the Business Development and corporate marketing team to develop themes and messages that advance the company's strategic objectives
     
Qualifications
  • 10+ Years and Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Outstanding inter-personal communications skills
  • Outstanding organizational, planning and project management skills.
  • Ability to interface and collaborate with all levels of the organization – from senior leadership to individual team members.
  • Ability to conceptualize, formulate and lead complex projects – from product launches to broad based multi-domain marketing strategies to targeted micro marketing activities in support of a single trade show or other customer event.
  • Must be high energy and a self-starter; a team player and engaged manager following the leader-servant model.
  • Broad defense industry knowledge and experience in the unique marketing and communications requirements of the US and international defense industries
  • Ability to work with a diverse array of people from a multitude of countries and cultures; able to navigate the complexities associated with planning and executing international trade shows. 
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills. Must be adept at public speaking. Must be able to collaborate and persuade in a team and peer environment where talent or experience is a least as important as duty title or time in service with the company. 
  • Must be able to effectively collaborate and interact with the following adjacent specialties: Corporate Media Relations, Advertising, Internal Communications, Public Affairs
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
