Job Responsibilities
  • We are looking for someone with lead and machining experience to lead and oversee our second shift. Individual must have positive approach and can-do mind set at all times.
  • Responsible for leading and overseeing teammates on second shift.
  • Responsible for all operations on shift, including scheduling work, priorities, and other related functions as directed by Manager.
  • Responsible for operating state-of-the-art laser machine/equipment
  • Responsible for loading and interpreting machine programs
  • Work under minimal supervision on duties and tasks requiring advanced skills, adapting procedures, techniques, tools, materials and/or equipment to meet special needs
  • Must have positive aptitude and positive approach at all times
  • Study specifications such as blueprint, sketch, damaged part, or description of part to be replaced to determine dimensions and tolerances of pieces to be machined, sequence of operations, and tools, materials, and machines required
  • Ability to select the correct material; load/unload sheet metal parts
  • Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points
  • Verify conformance of work piece to specifications using measuring instruments
  • May operate mechanism of machine, observe operation, or test with inspection equipment to diagnose malfunction or to test repaired machine
  • Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish assigned goals
  • Demonstrate ability to be a self-starter as well as sound decision making
  • Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all safety procedures including those which govern the handling of materials, chemicals, tools, and equipment (WHMIS)
  • Responsible for proper use of required PPE
  • Participate in LEAN Events, “Six S” activities, action teams etc.
  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
  • Interpret blueprints, Process Flow Instructions and other written or verbal instructions
  • Responsible and accountable for producing quality work to prescribed standards, with a focus on continuous improvement to meet customer commitments on schedule, within budget and to SPC standard practices
  • Must be familiar with HR policies and procedures and their application and be able to apply tools for business metrics and reporting
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 2 years as lead/Supervisor and/or 8+ years of experience in specialty area

U.S. Citizenship or Dual Citizenship required.
