POSITION SUMMARY

Th Receiving Clerk will be responsible for unloading incoming freight, transferring freight to proper storage areas; loading outbound DRPs using a forklift, and using the computer to receive the inventory in the system.  This position is also required to manually unload and transfer freight with the use of a forklift or other material handling equipment when a forklift would not be practical.  This role reports to the Warehouse Supervisor and is based out of our Seabrook, New Jersey location.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (essential functions of the job) Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

 

Responsibilities include:

 

  • Efficiently and effectively operates forklift and other material handling equipment to unload incoming freight and transfer that freight to the proper departments or storage area.  
  • Acquires empty pallets from storage areas and stacks incoming freight and materials on the proper pallets as instructed by supervisory or management personnel.
  • Uses a computer to receive inventory, print pallet tags, and identify ingredients and supplies. Applies the tags to the proper area of each pallet.
  • Must maintain proper colored tags and storage requirements on all organic ingredients
  • Reports any issues with DRPs or any other incoming loads
  • Perform weekly ingredient cycle counts for verifications
  • Complete forklift inspection reports at the beginning of the shift and report deficiencies to maintenance personnel.
  • Completes all required paperwork as directed by Quality Assurance Manager.
  • Sample incoming concentrates as required per proper GMP.
  • Maintains work area in a neat and orderly manner.
  • Ability to complete weekly Operator P.M.s. Communicate any problems within work areas with regard to equipment issues, including safety concerns.
  • Ensure any ingredients/freight being shipped out is properly sealed and in good condition prior to loading
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned

 

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

 

Minimum Required Qualifications

 

  • Must hold a high school diploma or equivalent
  • 6 months of forklift experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS

 

This position requires sufficient physical ability to work in a production setting.

 

FREQUENT:  Ability to talk and hear; ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, stoop, bend, and/or crouch; push/pull; lift up to 50 pounds; use of hands and fingers to operate machinery/equipment and all manual and electronic equipment in the area of responsibility.  Exposure to wet and humid conditions and fluctuations in ambient temperature (seasonal).

 

OCCASIONAL:  Squatting, kneeling, ability to reach above and at shoulder height. Ability to wear a dust mask, and perform Confined Entry using LOTO program.  Exposure to toxic and corrosive chemicals.

 

VISION:  Ability to use close and distance vision, as well as color and peripheral vision with or without correction.  Must be able to visually detect obstacles and potential dangers in a fast-paced production environment involving high-speed equipment and powered industrial lift equipment.

 

HEARING:  Ability to hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.  Exposure to noise levels from pumps, machinery, forklift traffic, bottle lines, and exhaust fans.
