Warehouse Supervisor - Position title: Warehouse Supervisor - Night Employee hourly pay rate/range: 38/Hr. Preferred start date: ASAP Duration: 3 months or more First day report-to person: Doug Ault First day start time: 4pm Schedule: days work hours : Monday through Friday 4pm to 3am Type of position temp-to-perm OR temporary : temp-to-perm Work address: 30825 Wiegman Rd, Hayward, CA 94544 Building name: Gallo Sales Company SUMMARY Responsible for the supervision of the night warehouse pick and load operation, facility security, and warehouse maintenance. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS This job description reflects management s assignment of essential functions; it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned. -Supervises night warehouse staff, assigns job duties and oversees the quality of job performances. -Plan and organize the work and resources required to run the shift and meet dispatch scheduling. -Tracks daily productivity and is responsible for meeting established productivity goals. -Sets objectives along with daily tactical planning and workforce requirements. -Responsible for training of employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising employee performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; -Enforce operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current. -Develop and maintain standard operation procedures to improve productivity of employees and efficiencies of processes -Works on and may lead continuous improvement projects. -Assists employees with daily activities. -Investigates and partners with cross functional teams to resolve customer shortage claims or other issues that may arise. -Completes daily shift reports and all records and reports in a timely and accurate manner to ensure that all transactions and labor hours are reported accurately. -Inspect physical condition of warehouse and equipment. -Coordinate repairs for equipment with outside vendors and/or forklift mechanics. -Effectively communicate with other Supervisors Delivery Inventory to ensure coordination of activities of each department. -Engages associates to work safely, accurately, and productively in accordance with all company, local, state, and federal policies and laws -Understand and apply parameters of the union contract to the union workforce. -The conducting of warehouse meetings dealing with different current topics and periodic safety procedures and policies. -Ensure maintenance of clean, orderly and safe warehouse -Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory consideration. If accountable for the work of others, responsible for ensuring their understanding and compliance. -Maintains satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness. SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITY -Reviews, controls, and monitors night shift activities. -Develops, coaches and mentors peers, indirect and subordinate staff. -If accountable for the work of others, conducts performance evaluations; reviews and communicates salary adjustments; rewards employees or takes disciplinary action, as necessary; addresses complaints and resolves issues. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS -High School diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 8 years of operations, warehouse and/or manufacturing experience in a high traffic environment to include supervisory or management experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility. -Broad knowledge of warehouse operations, methods and procedures. -F
