Virology Scientist – Rochester, MN

Kelly Scientific is collaborating with a leading company to find a skilled virology and molecular cloning scientist to join their team, which focuses on groundbreaking cell, gene, and virus therapies. Responsibilities:

• Design and perform in vitro virology experiments with minimal supervision.
• Independently create and clone viral vectors.
• Engineer cell lines by applying genetic editing techniques in mammalian cells using lentiviral vectors, CRISPR, or other advanced platforms.
• Collaborate with team members to advance interdisciplinary scientific projects and standardize new techniques.
• After training, conduct experimental research with minimal supervision while working closely with the scientific team.

Requirements:

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Molecular/Cellular Biology, Virology, Biochemistry, or a related field.
• At least two years of laboratory experience with a Master's degree or four years with a Bachelor's degree, including a minimum of one year of research experience.
• Proficiency in cloning techniques, PCR, Western Blot, and Elisa.
• Experience with Mammalian cell lines
• Prefer experience in designing and utilizing CRISPR for gene editing.
• Prefer experience with Protein Purification - Chromatography
• Strong skills in planning, organizing, and multitasking to efficiently complete assignments.
• Capability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Direct Hire
• Full Time – Mon-Fri
• Onsite in Rochester, MN
• $65,000 - $73,000/year with additional sign on and Benefits
