Virology Scientist – Rochester, MN
Kelly Scientific is collaborating with a leading company to find a skilled virology and molecular cloning scientist to join their team, which focuses on groundbreaking cell, gene, and virus therapies. Responsibilities:
- Design and perform in vitro virology experiments with minimal supervision.
- Independently create and clone viral vectors.
- Engineer cell lines by applying genetic editing techniques in mammalian cells using lentiviral vectors, CRISPR, or other advanced platforms.
- Collaborate with team members to advance interdisciplinary scientific projects and standardize new techniques.
- After training, conduct experimental research with minimal supervision while working closely with the scientific team.
Requirements:
- Master's or Bachelor's degree in Molecular/Cellular Biology, Virology, Biochemistry, or a related field.
- At least two years of laboratory experience with a Master's degree or four years with a Bachelor's degree, including a minimum of one year of research experience.
- Proficiency in cloning techniques, PCR, Western Blot, and Elisa.
- Experience with Mammalian cell lines
- Prefer experience in designing and utilizing CRISPR for gene editing.
- Prefer experience with Protein Purification - Chromatography
- Strong skills in planning, organizing, and multitasking to efficiently complete assignments.
- Capability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
