Underwriting Program Associate
(Monday Friday 8:30am-5:00pm (flexible) 30-minute lunch
Pay rate: $31.50/hrs. on W2
Location: Whitehouse Station, NJ – 08889 (Hybrid 4days on site, 1 day Remote) (depending on performance)
Duration: 3+ months (Temp to hire)
Job Summary:
- The Commercial Insurance Underwriting Program Associate will collaborate with our Managing General Agent, which specializes in the middle market construction sector. This MGU is authorized to produce and underwrite Workers' Compensation, General Liability, Automobile and Excess lines of business for Commercial Insurance.
- This position will report to the CI Operational Specialist
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Complete the end-to-end process of the monthly General Liability (GL) bordereau, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all deliverables. (will be trained)
- Engage in daily interactions with the MGU Operations and Underwriting staff to facilitate seamless communication and collaboration. (will be trained)
- Coordinate the processing of Excess Newlines and renewals by collaborating closely with the processing center and the MGU team, including accurate data entry into the Excess system. (will be trained)
- Update and maintain rate metrics to ensure accurate and current data for analysis and reporting. (will be trained)
- Store policy documentation in the appropriate electronic file, ensuring the integrity and organization of all electronic records. (will be trained)
- Coordinate the distribution and resolution of workers' compensation criticisms. (will be trained)
- Prepare and provide necessary information to the processing center to ensure accurate and timely booking of monthly reinsurance transactions. (will be trained)
- Support the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) process for the workers compensation system to ensure functionality and performance meet business requirements. (will be trained)
- Work closely with the collections specialist to resolve premium discrepancies efficiently.
- Manage the tracking of large deductible policies and associated claims activity. (will be trained)
- Assist with UW Audit activities including retrieving policy documentation. (will be trained)
- Support the submission process for newline activities. (will be trained)
- Maintain the tracking and accuracy of Construction Wrap Up policies. (will be trained)
- Perform monthly Texas Accident Prevention process. (will be trained)
- Complete applicable Motor Carrier Filings. (will be trained)
- Retrieve and distribute Excess loss run reports. (will be trained)
Skills:
- Demonstrated proficiency in data entry and computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, Formulas-advanced), Word (training documents and templates to be used) and, and Outlook (email).
- Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with all levels of internal and external business partners.
- Must be detail orientated.
- Must be able to multi-task and balance multiple priorities.
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Ability to learn quickly, prioritize work, and perform within time constraints.
- Ability to work independently and cohesively in a team environment.
Qualifications:
- Associates degree or equivalent, 4-Year degree preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years relevant insurance experience (Auto, GL, Workers Comp and Excess Umbrella) will be considered
