What's a typical day as Training and Development Advisor II You'll:
  • Lead the development, implementation, and assessment of outcome-based training programs and manage Capability Management Processes for specific GT client groups.
  • Independently manage the creation, review, update, and approval of competencies mapped to the client group.
  • Execute Training Processes to develop learning plans, including coursework, web-based training, self-study, and simulations, managed through a Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Lead Competency Assurance activities and support competency assessments, goal setting, and development planning for staff.
  • Ensure accurate and complete training and competency records while complying with the Records Management Policy.
  • Develop and implement an Annual Training Plan, facilitate training delivery, and validate training processes through internal assessments and compliance verification.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, external vendors, and industry advisory groups to manage resources, improve training content, and address competency gaps.
  • Apply expertise in adult learning and work with technical experts and instructional designers to create effective, outcome-based learning programs.

This job might be an outstanding fit if you have:
  • Degree in adult learning or in a related technical field
  • 7+ years of leadership and/or training development experience with a focus on the support of technical employees OR equivalent combination of formal education and experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Competent user of Microsoft Office Programs, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Experience as a classroom facilitator is considered an asset
  • Strong coaching skills – training and/or certification as a coach is considered an asset
  • Knowledge of content creation tool(s) is considered an asset
  • Competent user of LMS program(s) is considered an asset
