Description

Kelly® Engineering is seeking a Validation Engineer for a direct-hire position at a leading manufacturing company in Bridgeton, MO. If you are passionate about shaping the world we live in and are ready to reengineer your future, trust the experts at hiring experts.

Overview
Our client is a globally recognized manufacturer specializing in cutting-edge automotive service equipment. With a strong commitment to innovation and quality, they develop industry-leading solutions used by manufacturers, tire companies, and dealers worldwide.

As a Validation Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in developing and executing comprehensive validation processes for electromechanical systems. This is a strategic position that goes beyond just testing—you will extract critical test criteria, define validation strategies, and ensure a seamless verification process for new product development. This role will work closely with R&D, Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME), and Operations teams to establish clear validation protocols and reduce time to market.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Validation Strategy & Test Planning
  • Develop and own the validation test plans for electromechanical systems, ensuring all key test criteria are clearly defined
  • Work closely with engineering teams to extract and articulate critical validation requirements, ensuring alignment with product development goals
  • Oversee Alpha (on-site) and Beta (off-site) testing, ensuring test execution aligns with company validation standards
  • Define testing criteria, iterations, and duration to eliminate ambiguity in validation objectives
  • Collaboration & Fixture Development
  • Work alongside the test engineering team (who will execute tests) to ensure proper validation execution
  • Define requirements for test fixtures and validation equipment, working with AME and Operations teams to bring them to production (though not physically building them)
  • Ensure test fixture designs meet all required validation objectives while improving efficiency in testing cycles

Project Management & Process Improvement
  • Serve as a project manager for validation processes, driving alignment between R&D, manufacturing, and test engineering
  • Identify inefficiencies in validation workflows and implement new systems to improve speed and accuracy
  • Reduce time-to-market by refining validation processes—addressing current inefficiencies that have delayed projects by six months or more

Communication & Reporting
  • Maintain clear and detailed validation reports, ensuring leadership and engineering teams have actionable insight
  • Effectively communicate validation requirements and results to cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment on objectives
  • Must be able to clearly articulate test plans, ensuring executive leadership and engineers understand the validation strategy

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5-7 years of experience in mechanical validation engineering (not software validation)
  • Experience in electromechanical system validation, with both mechanical and electrical hardware expertise
  • Strong project management skills, including test plan creation, stakeholder alignment, and process improvement
  • Background in structured, highly regulated industries such as Tier 1 Automotive, Aerospace, or similar
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills—must be able to clearly articulate validation strategies
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to create new validation systems and processes from the ground up

Preferred Qualifications
  • CAD experience (CREO preferred)—ability to open and analyze models is a plus
  • Previous exposure to test engineering roles (title flexibility is considered if the skill set aligns)
  • Experience working in high-precision electromechanical industries

Why This Role?
This position is an opportunity to lead validation strategy at a $1B company without excessive red tape. The right candidate will build new validation systems, improve testing efficiency, and ensure a seamless transition from R&D to production. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy creating structured validation processes, this is the role for you!
