Description

Tax Credit Eligibility Analyst (Healthcare R&D)
South Jordan, UT
Direct Hire
$40-50k

*Position will be fully onsite

Kelly is seeking a Tax Credit Eligibility Analyst to work for our client, a consulting company that specializes in R&D tax credits, on a direct hire basis. This role is a great fit for someone with a healthcare or clinical background (such as dental hygiene, medical assisting, or similar) who is looking to transition into a more office-based, analytical, client-facing career.

The Tax Credit Eligibility Analyst will meet directly with doctors and dentists (primarily via Zoom) to understand their work, evaluate whether their activities qualify for R&D tax credits under IRS guidelines, and to document findings in a written report. Specifically, this position will:

  • Lead discovery calls with doctors and dentists, asking structured questions to understand their daily work and clinical activities
  • Evaluate client responses against IRS R&D guidelines (including reviewing relevant sections of tax code when needed)
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients during the discovery phase, maintaining a professional, confident, and approachable presence
  • Synthesize conversations, notes, and supporting materials into a clear written report summarizing eligibility and findings
  • Manage multiple client engagements at once, tracking outstanding questions and follow-ups
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure documentation, data, and communication are accurate and complete
  • Handle sensitive client information with discretion and care
Qualifications:
  • Strong listening skills — you can pick up on nuance and ask smart follow-up questions
  • Strong reading comprehension — you're comfortable working through written guidelines or technical material
  • Strong writing skills — you can clearly explain conclusions in a structured report
  • Comfort speaking with professionals (doctors, dentists, business owners)
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and keep documentation organized
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Openness to learning tax concepts and IRS rules (prior tax exposure is helpful but not required)
Nice to Have:
  • Background in healthcare, dentistry, or clinical settings
  • Experience writing research papers, reports, or formal documentation
  • Familiarity with tax concepts, compliance, or regulated environments
This role is for you if you want to build deep expertise at the intersection of healthcare, analysis, and tax regulation (without doing traditional tax prep). The work is thoughtful, client-focused, and impactful, and it rewards people who are naturally curious, organized, and clear communicators.

If this speaks to you, please apply ASAP or directly send your resume to SARP028@kellyservices.com.
