Tax Accountant (Individual & Business)
Kelly Services is looking for a part time Tax Accountant in St. Clair Shores, MI where you'll bring your expertise in both individual and business tax matters to help clients achieve financial success for at least the tax season. However, there could be a possibility of getting hired in.
Pay rate: $25-$30 per hour based on experience
Length: At least through the tax season, possible opportunity to get hired in
Work schedule: 2-3 days a week (flexible) from 9am-3pm with occasional Saturday
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review individual and business tax returns for accuracy and compliance
- Maintain bookkeeping records and perform thorough account reconciliations
- Research current federal, state, and local tax laws/regulations to provide informed guidance and ensure compliance
- Advise clients regarding tax-saving strategies, deductions, credits, and financial best practices
- Assist clients and team members during audit processes by compiling and reviewing necessary documentation
- Communicate effectively with clients to gather tax information and explain findings/recommendations
- Utilize tax preparation software and bookkeeping systems regularly
- Collaborate with colleagues to resolve complex tax and accounting issues
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge and professional development in tax and financial fields
- 3 + years preparing individual and business tax returns
- Proficient in bookkeeping, account reconciliation, and financial reporting
- Skilled in tax research and interpreting regulatory updates
- Experience in bookkeeping software (e.g., QuickBooks, TurboTax, etc.)
- Detail-oriented, analytical, and able to meet deadlines with high accuracy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Work on a diverse portfolio of clients and challenging tax projects
