Description

We are seeking a dedicated Structural Mechanic III to join our aircraft production team in Tulsa, OK. In this role, you will perform structural assembly and installation operations in accordance with engineering specifications and FAA requirements. Shift: 04:45 AM – 03:15 PM
Contract Type: 12-Month Contract (contract-to-hire)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely perform assembly and fitting of detail parts, sheetmetal layout, fabrication, and installation of parts/equipment/fabricated items on aircraft.
  • Perform varied drilling and riveting operations; rivet structural members, assemblies, and parts using required tools (e.g., riveting guns, pneumatic drills, countersinks, rivet shavers, files, reamers).
  • Remove fasteners without damaging structures.
  • Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, lofts, sketches, and operation sheets to determine sequence of operations, rivet size/type/pattern, and cutting/forming requirements.
  • Cut and form plastics; follow standard operating procedures for adhesives, sealants, and solvents.
  • Align and assemble parts using jigs, fixtures, clamps, pins, and fasteners; shape and form complex angles and configurations per blueprint specifications or written/verbal instructions.
  • Check all completed work to ensure defect-free assembly prior to final inspection.
  • Make repairs per Discrepant Material Tags (DMT), Material Review Requests (MRR), and Production Change Orders (PCO); perform rework as necessary to meet conformity.
  • Maintain and update logs and records (e.g., MIR sheets, DMTs, CRABS, PCOs).
  • Instruct and assist team members in blueprint interpretation, problem-solving, and production installation difficulties.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area; comply with 5S & Lean initiatives, safety rules, and PPE requirements.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Properly use, maintain, and return company-provided tools and equipment.
  • Follow SOPs when operating ground support equipment.
  • Safely collect and dispose of fuel, oil, hydraulic fluids, de-icing fluids, and solvent rags.
  • Ensure accurate daily job charging to aircraft.
  • Share job-related information and coordinate with other shifts via turnover meetings and direct leadership contact.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 1 year of structural assembly or sheetmetal experience
  • Basic knowledge of aircraft structures and fabrication processes
  • Ability to read 6" scale and interpret technical drawings
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, work in confined spaces, and climb ladders or stands
  • Basic computer skills and ability to follow written/verbal instructions
  • Strong attention to detail, craftsmanship, and teamwork
  • Must be able to work any shift
  • Must read, write, speak, and understand English
