The Stanley Black & Decker (SBD) Global Supply Management (GSM) team is our strategic sourcing organization focused on leveraging the company's scale to achieve the best possible price with the best possible quality; service and delivery among all categories of spend.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Strategic Sourcing Analyst for MRO & FACILITIES parts within GSM is focused on the effective and efficient procurement of maintenance, repair and operations (MRO & FACILITIES) parts specific to SBD's plants across North America for all business units. This role is responsible for changing the current status quo (including significant supply base consolidation) in their specific MRO & FACILITIES category.  A successful person in this role will develop a robust category specific sourcing strategy and then rapidly implement action plans across multiple business units. 
You will be part of a global team and will frequently interact with other regional MRO & FACILITIES category leads to ensure an aligned global sourcing strategy. The MRO & FACILITIES category specifically also requires upfront current procurement situation analysis in addition to experience and/or capability consolidating supply bases with effective supplier rationalization.
Specific Responsibilities:
  • Support multiple RFP's, starting from data/spend analysis to building the actual RFP's, getting internal business approval before you issue/submit the RFP's.
  • Analyze bids and present results to the internal stakeholders.
  • Follow-up with suppliers till final completion of contract negotiations and prepare implementation/transition plans.
  • Coordinate internal approvals according to the Corporate Procurement Policies.
  • Oversees the implementation of category specific sourcing strategies in support of the SBD  vision
  • Understand and link category strategy with GSM priorities and SBU goals
  • Institutionalize MRO & FACILITIES market intelligence including supply market shares, new technologies, political and economic impacts, including incorporating this intelligence into current category strategy. 
  • Ensure high degree of service delivery and SBU satisfaction
  • Determine, oversee and perform negotiations and contract management of large-scale, enterprise-wide volume purchase agreements
  • Responsible for creation of TCO value to the organization through a combination of productivity, working capital, synergies, reduced risk, improved supplier lead times, etc. 
  • Develop and foster strategic supplier relationships that deliver cost reduction, supply assurance, quality improvement and innovation
  • Identify existing and potential suppliers capable of meeting requirements, through RFI's (Request For Information).
  • Coordinate communications between suppliers & the Company ensuring supplier has sufficient information.          
  • Select supplier(s) based on evaluation of quotes and capability to meet the quality, delivery and total cost requirements of the Company.                           
  • Work with suppliers to meet annual cost savings and working capital gain objectives.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  • Five years of experience in strategic sourcing or equivalent experience in planning, manufacturing or operations.
  • Successful track record of designing and implementing medium and long term (1-3 Years) sourcing and procurement strategies that achieved desired results within the category.
  • Experience driving change at the plant level in a decentralized operational model preferred.
  • Must have a balance of both strategic and operational capacities; including global sourcing, supplier management, commodity risk management, etc.
  • Global mindset with experience working in an international/multi-cultural matrix environment
  • Comfortable working in a high pace work environment including project management and execution
  • Comfortable working with tools (or equivalent) such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Word.
SKILLS & CERTIFICATIONS
  • Ability to conceive strategic program initiatives, plan them, sell ideas and execute.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels; particularly at the management level
  • Influencing without direct authority
  • Ability to listen, engage and influence internal and external stakeholders.
  • Executive presence and effective presentation skills
  • Strong financial and analytical skills
  • Strong program and transformation management skills
  • Highly self-motivated with the ability to drive change in a global organization with minimum supervision
  • CPSM certification preferred
  • Spanish is a plus
EDUCATION:
A Bachelor's degree is required.  A MBA or Masters in Supply Chain is preferred.
