High School Special Education English Teacher
Pediatric Therapeutic Services (PTS) is seeking a Special Education English Teacher to join a dedicated team in Fort Washington, PA. This specialized program that provides a supportive, individualized environment for students with emotional, behavioral, and intellectual challenges.
This role is ideal for an educator who thrives in a collaborative setting and is passionate about creating meaningful learning experiences that meet each student where they are.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide engaging, standards-based English Language Arts instruction for high school students receiving special education services.
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in partnership with families and school teams.
- Differentiate instruction to address diverse learning styles, strengths, and needs.
- Use progress, data and feedback to guide teaching strategies and interventions.
- Maintain a classroom culture that promotes respect, growth, and confidence.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, English Education, or a related field.
- PA Special Education certification (7–12 or PK–12) preferred — PTS can assist eligible candidates in obtaining emergency certification.
- Background in English/Language Arts instruction strongly preferred.
- Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
