Kelly is seeking a Cost Accountant to work with our client, a leading company in the technical agriculture industry, on a direct hire basis! The Cost Accountant is responsible for all site related accounting activities including cost control against plan, working capital management, capital spend analysis, and product costings.

Specifically, the Cost Accountant will:

  • Analyze, interpret, and adjust site management accounts in order to provide accurate financial reporting.
  • Ensure that company accounting standards and international accounting standards are complied with to satisfy internal and external auditing and regulatory expectations
  • Monitor and advise on control of working capital to optimize cash flow
  • Meet with departmental heads to discuss and review all financial aspects including working capital control, revenue costs, and fixed asset cost control issues
  • Control and develop inventory management and costing systems including monthly stock valuation, product costings, analysis of gross margins and standard cost variances, physical stock counting, and overhead allocations
  • Provide product costing support to sales and marketing and input into local BOMs and product routings
  • Analyze and track capital projects and expenditures including management reports and SAP related tasks
  • Coordinate the periodic and annual strategic planning process and present to the Operations Manager, General Manager, and Financial Director
  • Provide support for internal and external audits and comply with requests from auditors
  • Produce monthly and other periodic reports for the senior management team and Financial Directors
  • Provide financial and inventory support to aid decision making where needed
  • Manage site specific sales and use tax compliance as well as other regulatory requirements as agreed with financial management
  • Apply IFRS accounting standards
  • Ensure local sales and use tax compliance as applicable
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance
  • Minimum of 3-5 years in a manufacturing environment, ideally in the technical agriculture industry
  • Experience with SAP required
  • Advanced MS-Excel skills
  • High degree of competence in all SAP accounting and inventory management functions
  • Recent experience with cost accounting in a manufacturing business
  • Knowledge of IFRS accounting standards
  • Experience with internal & external audits and control procedures
  • Understanding of site regulatory requirements
  • In depth knowledge of corporate business procedures
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to plan multiple activities with competing priorities
  • Good trouble-shooting and analytical skills
  • High level of interpersonal skills
  • Keen attention to detail
