What's a typical day as a Shipping and Receiving Specialist? You'll be:
• Preparing and shipping all outbound shipments, including regular parcel, freight, and international
• Accurately completing all necessary paperwork for outbound shipments
• Taking calls and setting up delivery appointments for outbound shipments
• Following and adhering to all company and customer shipping instructions, policies, and procedures
• Loading and unloading delivery trucks
• Maintaining accurate data entry and records in the system
• Processing outgoing shipments using UPS, FedEx, and other various shipping software
• Preparing all outbound pallets for shipment, including finishing, wrapping, and palletizing of product
• Working internally with other departments to ensure shipping deadlines are met
• Conducting inspections of the vehicle before departure
• Following DOT regulations and safety standards
• Operating powered industrial trucks, including forklifts and powered jacks
• Utilizing computer systems, ERP software, and Microsoft Office software
This job might be an outstanding fit if you:
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent
• Have intermediate knowledge of PC and database programs, including ERP systems, printing labels, word processing, excel spreadsheets, and Outlook
• Have effective verbal and written communication skills
• Have at least one year of experience working in shipping/receiving
• Have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly and occasionally lift up to 65 lbs.
• Have the ability to move and position yourself to operate on, under, and around machines
