Kelly® Engineering is seeking an experienced Regional Service Manager for a direct-hire opportunity with a leading power systems solutions provider in Crown Point, IN. Salary:
Up to $125,000

Overview:
Our client specializes in the design, implementation, and upkeep of distributed power solutions, particularly those involving gas engine stations and combined heat and power (CHP) systems. The company is recognized as a key distributor for INNIO Jenbacher across the Midwest, emphasizing eco-friendly energy advancements such as biogas refinement and peak-load power stations, aiming to deliver robust and effective energy support.

The Service Manager will lead and manage the Service team to deliver cost-effective, customer-focused service to customers in the Midwestern USA, ensuring consistently high standards.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Service function, overseeing the performance and development of the service team.
  • Ensure service activities meet guaranteed availability and margin expectations, maintaining high service standards throughout the Midwest.
  • Provide regular updates on current projects, utilizing experience to solve problems and implement solutions.
  • Represent the Service function in customer meetings, offering technical expertise to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Assist in the development of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and other financial performance metrics.
  • Ensure new installations are properly handed over from Projects to Service.
  • Ensure all Service staff understand and adhere to Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality management policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with customer procedures and protocols for all works, including callouts.
  • Continuously improve the technician evaluation, development, and tier system.
  • Execute the local project plan for any new product Service offerings.
  • Continuously improve the technician training program, including an apprentice program.
  • Ensure adherence to best practices, procedures, and quality standards by all service team members.
  • Complete the annual performance management process for the Field Service team, aligning objectives and development plans with company goals.
  • Communicate with relevant personnel to support the distributor relationship, including training, technical support, warranty, and forecasting.
  • Monitor and improve the purchasing process with key suppliers to maximize savings and margins.
  • Provide Midwest US data to the Service Manager when required.
  • Participate in global service meetings as necessary.
  • Support the Managing Director in building a robust Service function and team in the Midwest.
  • Perform any ad-hoc duties assigned by the Service Manager and Managing Director.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • At least 5 years of Field Service engineering experience with electrical and mechanical engineering knowledge or service industry experience.
  • Knowledge of internal combustion engines and generators preferred.
  • Knowledge of Power Generation and CHP preferred.
  • Preferred: Knowledge of INNIO Jenbacher, MAN Product, and RNG equipment.
  • Experience in service price modeling and contract documentation development.
  • Experience in remotely managing a team of service technicians.
  • Extensive experience in building customer relationships.
  • Experience in performance and change management.
  • Proficiency in basic computer and technology platforms/software.
  • Authorization to work in the US without sponsorship.
