Sr. System Administrator – Windows/Azure
**Up to $150K/year**
* The first 90 days will be onsite then a hybrid schedule is given which will be (2 days remote & 3 days onsite) *
*Requires active SECRET security clearance to start*

Job Description:
Our customer is currently seeking aSr. Systems Administrator (Windows/Azure) on a DoD contract in Alexandria, VA. Contractor will be required to be onsite no less than 3x per week, after full-time onsite for the first 90 days.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform Windows servers system administration duties in a mixed environment (Azure Gov & on-prem VMware)
  • Continuous reviewing existing Azure services and architecture and look for changes to improve performance and cost of operations
  • Maintain Azure cloud solutions, including virtual machines, storage accounts, and virtual networks
  • Manage and update Windows Patches and antivirus on all servers
  • Administer AD in a VMware environment including GPO and security policies
  • Maintain, track and renewal of DOD SSL certificates
  • Produce STIG checklist on a quarterly basis
  • Install windows & 3rd party software updates and remediate security vulnerabilities
  • Create VMs snapshots and troubleshoot VMs issues
  • Monitor Azure infrastructure performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal system operation and availability
  • Automate routine tasks and processes using Azure Automation, PowerShell, or other scripting languages to improve operational efficiency.
  • Provide support to create various reports on the Azure infrastructure and on-Prem VMware
  • Stay up to date with the latest Azure technologies, trends, and best practices, and make recommendations for system enhancements or optimizations

Required Qualifications:
  • At least 10 years of proven experience as a System Administrator in the US Federal Government
  • Eight (8) + years' experience managing all facets of VMware 6.0 infrastructure
  • Eight (8) + years' experience managing, maintaining Windows AD environment
  • Five (5) + years' experience managing Azure services (including windows VMs) in an Azure Government cloud
  • Expert on DoD patch Management and Vulnerability Remediation (Process and Tools)
  • Understanding of Azure services and solutions, including Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Storage, and Azure Networking
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or higher Azure certification
  • Secret Clearance
  • IAT II Certifications IAW DoD (For DoD IAT Level 2, the two required certs are as follows:CompTIA Security+orSSCP (Systems Security Certified Practitioner)Other security-related certs that are accepted (in addition to the above two certs) as well for the DoD IAT Level 2 include the following as well: CCNA Security; CySA+; GICSP; GSEC)

Preferred:
  • Experience with Azure Apps, Azure Functions and Azure Kubernetes Service
  • Experience with Azure DevOps
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in an IT related field such as MIS or Computer Science
