Senior Facilities Engineer
- Location: Mahwah NJ (07430)
- Duration: Until 7/2028 (contract extension potential)
- Type: W2 contract (NO C2C OR THIRD PARTY)
- Pay: Negotiable depending on direct-related experience up to $50 - $55 an hour
- Work Authorization: Must be currently in the United States with active employment authorization documents without current or future sponsorship.
The Senior Facilities Engineer is responsible for providing technical expertise and leadership in utility systems and infrastructure projects. This includes the review and interpretation of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) drawings, vendor/OEM plans, drafting and executing validation protocols for facilities equipment, and overseeing construction and equipment installation activities. The role focuses on ensuring large-scale utility and infrastructure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with site goals and regulatory requirements.
- Technical Review: Lead technical reviews of MEP and OEM/vendor plans. Develop a deep understanding of site utilities and constraints to recommend optimal paths forward.
- Validation and SOPs: Draft validation plans, gain stakeholder approval, and execute equipment startups and qualifications. Develop robust User Requirement Specifications (URS), and create or update SOPs, maintenance procedures, and Lockout/Tagout documentation.
- Vendor Oversight: Support Facilities Project Managers in overseeing vendors during utility upgrades, rigging, crane operations, and construction. Assist with safety walkthroughs, contractor briefings, and ensuring vendor compliance with safety and company standards.
- Issue Resolution: Lead troubleshooting efforts related to HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and infrastructure systems, including urgent repair needs.
- Contract Support: Assist the Facilities Project Manager in negotiating vendor contracts and service agreements to ensure quality and cost efficiency.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with operations, quality, engineering, and facilities teams to align infrastructure projects with broader manufacturing objectives.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure all activities adhere to safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of contracts, project milestones, system performance, and compliance documentation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field preferred.
- Minimum 2+ years of relevant experience in facilities, utilities, or infrastructure project engineering.
- Strong knowledge of MEP systems, equipment validation, and safety protocols.
- Ability to work independently and make sound judgments under minimal supervision.
