Employment Type: W2 Contractor (12-Month Contract, with potential extension, not guaranteed)
Pay Rate: $87.59/hr.

Join the team supporting Johnson & Johnson in Wilson, NC, and play a key role in the construction-phase commissioning of critical systems such as Black Utilities and HVAC, ensuring compliance with GMP, EHS, and project specifications.
Key Responsibilities
As a C&Q Engineer, you will:

Lead and execute commissioning activities for Black Utilities and HVAC systems during construction.

Develop detailed Commissioning Execution Plans in collaboration with the C&Q Firm, automation, calibration, quality, system owners, and vendors.

Review and develop commissioning test documents, protocols, and project-specific procedures.
-
Guide and oversee the commissioning field team, including engineers, technicians, vendors, and contractors.

Coordinate commissioning interfaces across stakeholders (Construction Management, Utilities, Automation, Electrical, Instrumentation).

Manage exception handling and remediation plans.

Monitor progress and ensure all deliverables are completed on time and in compliance with GMP and qualification requirements.

Act as a technical SME, mentoring team members and ensuring consistency across commissioning activities.

Prepare and communicate short-term schedules (e.g., 4-week lookahead) in coordination with the C&Q scheduler.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.

Minimum 5 years of experience in Commissioning & Qualification (C&Q) in a pharmaceutical or biotech setting.

Deep understanding of GMP, URS, EHS standards, and construction commissioning environments.

Familiarity with black utilities (e.g., boilers, HVAC, chilled water, etc.) and associated C&Q deliverables.

Strong leadership, documentation, and project coordination skills.

Experience with Kneat Gx (preferred).
